I played football at a prestigious D1 Independent football program. My whole family was really obsessed with them growing up and we would all gather around the TV to watch them on NBC. Anyway, I was working at a steel mill and after my friend died in a horrific work accident I wound up at my dream school. I walked onto the team, nothing special, as I am undersized.
I always tried hard in practice and everyone on campus knew me. Well, one game everyone started chanting my name and coach put me in. I made a tackle, we won and all the guys carried me off the field on their shoulders.

All County OL in 87. Offensive captain my SR. Year. We ran the Wing-T and I was a very quick 185lb OG. To small to play in college at the position I had played my entire life from age six. Not blessed with speed(fastest 40 was 4.9) so moving to a skill position as a walk on was not really an option.
Have been a community coach for 18 years. Was the HC/OC for the 8th grade of my former HS for 8 years and the OL coach my first 4 years. Took off 4 years due to fighting cancer and we moved about 40 miles from where I coached a year an a half ago. Met with the local HS head coach a month ago and glad to say I am starting back coaching this spring. Will be the 7th-8th grade OC.

Football as a Fr. Didn't play much. Played ice hockey until I was a Jr. Then I decided that I liked getting fricked up and playing music alot more than being somewhat sober and playing sports.

Lol. If you're going to make up a bad story you might want to say you run faster than a 10.53 before saying you're ridiculously fast. That's fast for the average Joe on here, but not for Olympics.
ETA: I threw discus, hammer, and weight on a full scholarship for two years before joining the navy. Qualified for nationals both years, but didn't do shite at the meet.

That's awesome.
I was a star quarterback for a prominent high school in Texas. I had an offer to play QB for Florida State going into my senior year and was one of the best players in the nation. I was having some knee issues, but my coach kept convincing me to suck it up and not get treatment. Well during one of my games I blew my knee all to hell. The doctor said he had never seen so much scar tissue. I lost my scholarship and never got the chance to play in college. I got the last laugh though. I threw that crotchety old bastard coach out of the locker room during the playoffs and ended up coaching our team to a state title! As a senior in high school! I'm still a coach, and a succesful one at that.

Played RB at Wake Forest. I was drafted and played for the Chicago Bears, but a guy that finished behind me in the heisman voting started ahead of me at the NFL level. I was all heart and barely hung on with the Bears, while he and I formed a beautiful interracial friendship based upon mutual respect. Then I got cancer and they made a movie about me. Now there's a parking spot on Wake's campus reserved for me.

I was a moderately recruited QB and had to redshirt my freshman year. I won the job in my 2nd year and went on to win the Heisman. An invisible girlfriend almost stole that from me. Then I got drafted and had a pretty miserable 1st year in the league. So much so that my depression increased as did my drinking. Currently, I'm in rehab for various aspects of my life. I wouldn't be confused for a douchebag anymore. I'm now completely sober and can recite every player's responsibility on every single play. This year, I will wreck the league and I will be loved.
