This picture doesn't make it any clearer to me. The angle is bad and I can't tell if his knee is down or actually above the ground.
Honestly, I thought he was probably down, but like these others have said, there was no definitive proof. I think in the age of replay refs are more likely to call a TD there and let the replay sort it out, than risk taking a score away from a team late in the game.

He'll certainly be the best qb in the sec at the next level.
There is another
So do you really think AJ will do better in the NFL?

I thought his forearm was down before his knee went down. Either way he got rocked. Murray is a tough SOB

It's truly disappointing that obvious calls are missed on replay. Isn't that the fricking point of replay?

I actually thought that his whole body was down except his helmet and he was still short. it looked like he rolled over and got in. That said, the over head view made it look like he was in by a yard.

I have to give it to Murray he's a great football player and seems like an even better person. He kept a low profile in the offseason and worked hard.

There is a picture on espn writer Radi Nabulsi's twitter that shows his knee still in the air. I dont know how to link pictures from twitter or I would share

No and I didn't think it was particularly close. If you watch the official from the opposite sideline he runs in like hes gonna spot it short and then ends up ruling TD for some reason.
But they didn't have the camera angle to overrule the call so I understand why it stands. What I don't understand is why they don't have the right camera angle. It can't be that difficult to have 4 cameras, two on each goal line on opposite sidelines

It's baffling a camera isn't permanently affixed to each side of the goal line.

Extremely close. I think no, but I also think the original call was legit, and the replay judgment the only way they could go.
I think the first quarter call on Coates was correct, and they missed the controversial fumble recovery.
All credit to Murray for taking that hit, holding on, managing to bounce forward, and coming back to play well. Wow.

I pretty much said the same thing in the game thread.

It's not the knee I am concerned with. Verne and Gary kept saying that. If you watch a replay of the play, watch his left elbow. That is very obvious. Murray pushes the ball forward after he is down.

I thought he did in watching it live. I didn't think he did on the replay, but it wasn't really conclusive.

the other knee is the one that everyone thinks is down and you can't see it on the photo either.

just look at the picture or wait until someone better with computers than me links it. It shows it very clearly. Knee up, elbow up, ball over the goal line.

ehh can't really tell where the ball is since its a head on view and not down the opposite sideline
