but what is more popular to fill the 3rd spot at least in the south?

I was referring to NCAA as a whole(div 1), and I believe lacrosse and hockey both top baseball and womens bball is right there with it

I agree...but so is college basketball

I don't totally disagree, but the best players don't completely forgo college basketball on a regular basis

I am guessing women's basketball would be the only sport that could be more popular than college baseball

Gotcha...i could see hockey and womens hoops. I'm obviously showing a little ethnocentricism here but i assumed that lacross was still just a country club type sport only played on the east coast. Obvioulsy i know kids play it (in the suburbs) but i figured it was like soccer and the best athletes don't really do it past highschool and thus not a nation wide followed college sport.

I cannot stand this garbage. I guess it goes back to Buffalo in the Super Bowls or maybe the Braves, but teams losing a national title game are not "failures" or "losers".

Miss State, Auburn and Kentucky had tremendous squads where everyone but UCLA,Florida State and Connecticut would have traded places with them.

Second place is the first loser. The participation ribbon mentality in this country is terrible.

I feel that if Cohen could have kept it respectable, the SEC wouldn't have lost all the momentum.
