Want to discuss the YMCA that is in front of the new foley indoor practice field that was completely renovated starting in 2008/2009 that took 2 years and was "privately" funded? The YMCA that charges $15/yr for membership and receives no public funding? The one that had not been renovated or upgraded in a decade or more until Julio then Fluker signed with bama.

We can chat about that as well. Or you can just accept the fact Foley high school and adjoining properties received huge influxes of cash immediately after Julio signed with bama and just prior to Fluker signing. It's no secret in the Foley system and community and like I said, it is not Watson's fault Foley got in bed with bama 5 years ago when saban arrived. It has been very mutally beneficial to both.

Julio Jones donated a ton of money to Foley after he signed with Atlanta. Ask one of your Auburn brethren that is a coach at Foley. He has said as much.

So you think some Bama boosters are continually funding a YMCA because they might on occasion get a great football player from Foley to sign with Bama?

Yep. What I am referring to took place 4-5 years ago though. The building and renovations wrapped up about 2 years ago.

I've worked out at that Y for many years when I am home visiting or have spent time renting in the summer. That and the Gulf Shore or Orange Beach rec centers.

Anyway, that is about enough from me about it. I have zero doubts about the money spent directly on Foley HS football related work but am speculating about the YMCA. Only because work began at roughly the same time and that Y has always been broke.

renovations started in 2008/2009. The plans had to be in the works for a couple of years before that.

This is absurd, even for you. So Alabama is funding the construction of a YMCA in hopes of luring potential prospects from Foley in the future. Do you know how much that sounds like the idiots from the ATPB thead of 2010?

I dunno. Just speculating about the Y because of the timing and the fact it almost ajoins the side of Foley HS (just separated by maybe 30-40 yards of grass).

The indoor pratice facility, locker room, and field house renovations is more than speculation.

IIRC, Prattville HS got a ton of upgrades to their facilites after Bama pulled in a few of their players over the years.......

The only upgrade pville got was a new indoor facility that doubled as a weight room. The football stadium sure didn't get any upgrades.
