Smitty is everything you want in a college player. Leads by example, humble, hardworking and seems to be an overall good person.

DeVonta need just 1 receiving TD to become the SEC season holder for that category. He needs 140 yards to become the break SEC receiving yards record. All against P5 opponents which is impressive. He already holds the most SEC Career receiving TDs.

Let's celebrate his greatness together my friends.

A special talent. Had the balls to actually suit up and play with his brothers and it paid off. No quit in this kid.

I think the best thing DeVonta Smith does on the football field is catch the football.

When Waddle went out, Alabama leaned on the Slim Reaper like their playoff lives depended on it. The nation got a much better look at this kid's special qualities that otherwise would have gone unfulfilled without the added reps. The Heisman would not have even thought about DeVonta without the demand we put on him after Tennessee.

Great receiver...i find it puzzling how some of these mock drafts have him as the 4th reciever off the board. Crazy

It’s okay, everyone thought he was the fourth best WR on the 2018 team roster too and he ended up having a better season than any of them in the end.

It does matter where he lands, it's always tricky to see how a college player translate over to the NFL.

I just saw Smith at 3 over Fields. And this one had Mac going first round to the Patriots. (not likely on either from what I've been hearing). However, Kiper this morning did say he heard Belichik is very intersted in Mac for 2 main things, accuracy and football iq. But Bill is known for not using 1st round picks on qb's, but then again he had Brady all of those seasons and doesn't now. I don't know.

Honestly I wonder how much extra cash Jaylen Waddle made Devonta Smith this year. We won’t find out till draft day though

Nice work by Waddle getting injured to pave the way

Greatness

It matters very much when it comes to money. I would think he would be no lower than the 2nd reciever off the board behind chase maybe...and you can make an argument that numbers wise he is above chase

Both are projected early first round. Miami fans are debating Chase or Smith, with Smith winning the debate among fans. However, most site have Chase going at 3 which is remarkably high for a wr. So Chase seems to be winning the debate with the coaching staff.

Where was he projected to start the year? Late first round right? I feel like if Waddle never went down he probably still would have gone up, maybe to like mid first round a little bit ahead of where JJets went.

As to where he will actually go, I think it’s close enough that it will all depend on what they do at the combine. Some people on here seem to think that Chase is slow. I think they’re stupid. Something that’s definitely not deniable is that Chase has almost the perfect build for an NFL wide receiver.

I know he was projected to be the first wr taken in the draft. And still is according to most sites I have seen. 3 is high for a wr, usually a qb or pass rusher pick. However, the Dolphins have it and are in need of wr's. So I think it will be Chase and he probably rose despite not playing, because of the Dolphin's needs more than anything.

In an age where top talents are consistently opting out of seasons or bowl games, Smitty comes back for a senior year to dominate. I would hope that Smith and Najee inspire other great players to stay longer in school.
