Sources inside the LSU athletic department have indicated that the NCAA has informed them that the football and basketball cases have been combined and they are bracing for a "Lack of Institutional Control" from the NCAA.

Word has gotten out that a 2 year post-season ban and an additional 10 scholarship reduction for football is the best outcome LSU could hope for and that they would not fight that and accept the punishment.

Then again, he didn’t grow up in Mississippi, graduate from Mississippi State, and then embarrass himself by lying about attending grad school. Not sure who would do that.

Did he really lie about going to grad school?

If the case against LSU is so strong why has LSU still gotten no NOA and why is it going to the IARP?

TexAg7, I think I've found out what makes WilliamTaylor21 the most stuck, monotonous, wretched poster on the whole site. I ran across this last night and felt extreme sorrow for him and felt guilty about how he is treated here sometimes. But, all in all, he probably deserves what happened to him.

Looks like they're going in order. Arizona just got theirs a few days ago. Or maybe they have and it hasn't been publicly released. We do know the NCAA has made accusations in some official capacity, because LSU's enforcement staff responded to it.

and why is it going to the IARP?

My guess is due to the unprecedented complexity of the case and institutional cheating being done by both Football and Basketball under roughly the same window of time.

The head coach arranging payments for 11 different players in exchange for their signing with a program is truly astounding. The fact that he still hasn't backed down is even worse. LSU basketball is about to be torn to the ground. Your best bet is to simply hope the football program doesn't get taken down with it as collateral damage.

quote:

Last month, LSU released documents to ESPN in which the NCAA enforcement staff indicated that it received information that basketball coach Will Wade "arranged for, offered and/or provided impermissible payments, including cash payments, to at least 11 men's basketball prospective student-athletes, their family members, individuals associated with the prospects and/or nonscholastic coaches in exchange for the prospects' enrollment at LSU."

quote:

The allegations were included in the NCAA enforcement staff's request that its infractions case involving the LSU men's basketball program be adjudicated through the IARP, which was created to handle complex cases. The IARP is also handling infractions cases involving men's basketball programs at Kansas, Memphis and NC State.

I think the the song is “Georgia On My Mind” not “LSU On My Mind”? It’s ok, you’re good enough.

This is one of the most egregious cheating scandals in NCAA sports history, and has already been among the most public.

What else would you like us to talk about? We've exhausted our topics on LSU's awful football season. You should be thanking me for taking the heat off of your football program for having one of the greatest collapses of all time.

LSU about to get LOIC

Quite possible. In fact, my theory is that they moved quickly to sanction the Football program for boosters stealing from a children’s hospital to pay players so they could levy the LOIC charge and maximize the penalties given to the basketball program.

What fricking PLANET are you from ???????
ONE rogue booster - (1) John Paul Funes - from Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, paid non-existent overtime to the father of ONE (1) former LSU tackle Vadal Alexander - A YEAR AFTER VADAL HAD ALREADY GRADUATED.
""A YEAR AFTER HE HAD GRADUATED AND OFF THE TEAM AND OFF CAMPUS.""""" Get it ??????
He returned the money. And Funes is in prison.

Odell Beckham was banned from campus for two years for his childish stunt after the NCG.

Well, I for one, was very displeased that LSU allowed a booster to steal from a children's hospital to pay the LSU football team. How many dozens of players were buying cars, clothes, and electronics with money that should have been going to saving the lives of children? How vile could a program be to allow this? You should think about this and reevaluate your motives. I am pleased that you are outraged, but your outrage is missing the appropriate target.

Bragging about going 1-8 against Alabama. How sad.

Bragging about
-poisoning a rival's landmark
-straddling your scrotum on another adult male in front of women and children in a public restaurant
-female drunk fan-surfing over opposing fans at the Superdome
-Doing unspeakable things in an Atlanta Home Depot employee parking lot
-Calling in a bomb threat to another university's stadium because your friend would lose a large bet.
-Running down an opposing team's Safety 5 seconds after the play was over and injuring him for the season, then having the gall to wave your hands at the ref like you did nothing wrong.

How sad.........
