University of Alabama and Tuscaloosa city officials said Monday that they were looking for what caused water pressure levels at Bryant-Denny Stadium to dip this past weekend. Just after halftime of the Alabama-Texas A&M game, an announcement was made over the stadium’s public address system that spectators should refrain from using restrooms because a lack of water pressure would keep toilets from flushing. The game drew a capacity crowd of 101,821.University and city officials did not have an explanation for the problem Monday.

“They’re still trying to determine what the exact problem was,” said Deidre Stalnaker, media relations coordinator for the city of Tuscaloosa, in reference to city and university engineers.

A woman in the University of Alabama’s media relations department was just as vague.

“As soon as we know anything, we’ll let you know,” she said, hanging up when a reporter for The Tuscaloosa News asked for her name.

Fans were upset at the inconvenience, with some asking whether a public apology from UA would be issued.

Unlike Tennessee, we have the funds to fix it.

I think it's pretty fair to expect working plumbing with a crowd of over 100,000 people.

We're talking about government officials here. They are quite often clueless.

I remember they had the same problem in 1988 during their first game with the new upper deck after having played their home games at Legion Field in 1987. Right before halftime, no water-- no drinks or bathroom.

Well I remember in 1933 there was no indoor plumbing at Denny stadium. Those times were terrible.

Lasted maybe an hour. Everything worked fine before the end of the game. Seems like overkill for a temporary issue.
