I respect your opionion, but that is incorrect. In fact, not even close. saban was only at LSU for 5 years. He lost less than 3 games only once out of those 5 years.
Contrary to popular belief, LSU just two years prior to saban had won 26 games and 3 bowl games from 1995-1997, and we were #12 all-time nationally in victories and #10 in bowls, B E F O R E saban and the year 2000.


Bernie Moore, Gaynell Tinsley, Paul Dietzel, Charlie McClendon and Les Miles were all tenured longer as Head Football Coach at Louisiana State University than saban's 5 years.

Moore for 13 seasons, Tinsley and Dietzel for 7 each, Charlie McClendon for 18 and Les Miles for 10.

Each won multiple SEC Titles, had Top Ten teams and bowl games.
*Dietzel won a national title, had 3 Top 5 teams and 3 bowl teams.
*McClendon went to 13 bowl games and had 7 top 10 teams.
*Miles has won 6 of 9 bowl games, 2 national titles and 2 SEC titles, and is the winningest coach in the country since 2005 and has the most SEC wins since 2005.
And he did this all with monumentally tougher schedules than saban.
Miles also came in blindly in 2005 having not known nor recruited any of the previous players, many of whom had sat on the bench in 2004 under saban, and lead them through a gauntlet of Katrina triages on campus and TWELVE """"""" C O N S E C U T I V E """""" GAMES in a row WITHOUT a bye - to the SECCG in his first season.
