For the umpteenth time, outside of our Center, the Bama OL is average at best.....and that's being generous. Look at the game where Kelley was injured during the game and had tonsit out awhile, Ole Miss I think it was, the Bama running game was shutdown while he was out of the game.

It may not have been Ole Miss, but I think it was. I'm getting old and have CRS.

I wish him a long and prosperous NFL career. He may or may not have success at the next level, but I like the way he carries himself on the field. Seems to be a hard working and humble young man. Seems to be a great team player.

I think with the right team Henry can be really good. Maybe a Bama fan can correct me if I"m wrong as I haven't seen a lot of his games, but it looks like Henry doesn't have much wiggle. That is he doesn't look like he creates a lot of his space instead relying more on the oline. Now once he gets going he has good speed for his size and likes to fall forward.

So if he goes to a team with a crappy Oline, I think he doesn't do as well as he won't be able to outsize everyone as easily in the NFL.

Having a scripted A on your jersey can only carry you so far. Getting invited to attend the Heisman ceremony will be the pinnacle of his career.

His success will depend on what team he gets on (duhhh...) because his key will be if he can get to the LOS without contact. He is a beast when he gets a head of steam but he takes those 3-4 yrds to wind up too. If he gets hit in the backfield or even the LOS he will not get the yards like he is now...

The new model for a NFL RB is nimble-quick, with great cutting ability, and ability to catch the ball. Darren Sproles is a good example. Big backs are hard to find in the NFL now. Brendan Jacobs had a good career but was not that long - just kept getting bigger and slower I guess.

If he gets with a team that has a great OL he could do very well for a while. Dallas comes to mind.

Maybe for Alabama. They're as good as anyone and probably better right now.

I love how everyone wants good player of a rival to fail in the NFL.

I think Chubb, LF and Henry will all be good NFL backs. I hope they are at least.

He doesn't have a juke or spin button. Just stiff arm and turbo and he needs to give Nysewander 10%, pre tax, of his signing bonus.

That being said, he's a very good pass blocker for a JR RB which the NFL will find attractive. He could stand another year in college to work on his shiftiness, but staying another year in college isn't going to make his stock any higher than it is now. Hopefully he lands with a team that has a good OL and is patient enough to realize he still has a lot of raw talent that can be developed.

I wish that were the case. Now the TE, and esp Nysewander are excellent, and the WRs are also very physical and good at down field blocking. But the OL just looks good late in games because most opposing defenses are gassed by that point from trying to tackle Henry 25 times over 3 quarters and also Comer does a good job of making the DL chase him all around the backfield before getting back to the LoS or making one of his good scrambles on 3rd down. I don't think he knows that he can throw the ball away. I love his toughness bbut we are just one hit away from him getting hurt and the season being over. You see what happens when he doesn't start (Ole Miss).

Alabama is in the bottom 25% for negative plays and the perception is that they have the best O Line in the country. Wow.

Last time I checked, Bama was the only team in the bottom 25% that had a winning record.

Remembering how many "book it's" I read before the Henry/Fornette head to head.

Did they face the same defense with the same offensive line?

You missed the point. It was all the times people said Fornette would have more yards in that game "Book it"

Now I hear he will have a better NFL career "Book It"
Let’s just let it play out, I wish them both the best

I do want Henry to go ahead to the NFL for his sake. No way he can improve on this year and he has done enough for us. I don't like him running it 40+ times a game and would hate it if he got hurt in the 4th qtr. 2 games left for a NC then go make as much money as you can Sir Henry.

"Not shifty"

Henry highlights:

@1:42 - Presses the hole and cuts outside on a dime.

@1:52 - Shows great hip flexibility and quick feet to bounce the run outside. Hits full speed by his second or third step upfield (for the "he hits the LOS too slow" crowd).

@2:50 - Same

@3:08 - Breaks down multiple defenders in the open field

As an NFL scout this is all you're looking for from a back like Henry. When it comes down to it he's bigger than a lot of linebackers and faster than a lot of defensive backs.

Anyone who has watched more than one Bama game knows how average the OL is. They think that's why Henry has the games he has. Kelley and Nysewander are the only above average blockers Henry has.

Nysewander struggled to find blocks against UF. Kelly is the only conssistanly good OL. The rest are very up and down and struggle with penalties.

And corndogs can't give credit where credit is due. Henry ran thru the L5U defense like crap thru a "Tin Horn". You are right about the L5U defense, they were/are not an NFL defense. They're not even a lowly "gump" caliber defense, now are they?

Called months ago he will be a bigger bust than Trent, runs way too upright, no burst, every Bama back that runs behind a 5 star steamroller line racking up numbers had a rude awakening when they go play with the big boys and much more parity.
