I'm struggling to see y'all's logic with this one. Unless he really improves his passing stats I just don't see it. Although I think his passing was underrated at the end if the season. Plus he's quiet.

players tend to improve a lot from their first year to their second year.... plus, auburn's added a great playmaker at WR and he loses Mason.

He's a steal at 33/1... i don't think he's gonna win it or anything... but three recent winners probably weren't even listed on Vegas boards preseason -- cam, JFF, and winson.

I could see this guy getting a push from the media. Great odds on a guy who will be featured on both sides of the ball.

Yeah if they use him that way again next year that would be a bet worth placing.

He's gonna need more than 3044 yds from scrimmage (only 1976 passing) to get serious consideration, from the QB position.

Sure he is, but he missed two stat padding games last year and had a Heisman trophy contender in the backfield with him.

33/1 odds though is pretty strong. Derek Henry has to do a hell of a lot more to get serious consideration as well. As do a lot of guys on that list.

ETA: how many total yards from scrimmage did AJ have last year?

But if you listen to all of the USCe fans Mike Davis is the best RB in the SEC

The nerve, right?

I mean he is 18/1 where others are 14/1 and 16/1. WTF are SCar fans thinking promoting the guy that plays for them?

Also, odds does not mean who vegas thinks is the best, they are set up to make money.

Not surprised. He was a beast in the Sugar Bowl. Wish we could have gotten him. Fantasy: Gurley and Henry alternating carries.

OU is losing a lot on offense, particularly at skill positions and a starter or two on the OL. It is risky, but I have to agree.

I don't disagree. He only rushed 35 times last yr.

More than Marshall, and as a QB, a little over 1,000 yds more passing. (in same amount of games)

I dont think he wins, but a lot of marshalls "lost" passing stats were directly attributed to very poor WR play. Not saying he is peyton or even close, but he could have had much more in passing had he had better guys on the other end. Which is not his fault.

I think Quille comes in and gives him his lock down recover, with Coates as a solid 2, which he really didnt have

Check again.

They played the same number of games and that counts 1 game where Marshall only played a couple of series before coming out.

Perhaps.. but he made some horrible throws many times as well. He should be improved this year. He also had, and will have a good Oline in front of him this year.

This is confusing to me. How is it that Tre mason rushes for 1000 yards back to back seasons and is only considered in the last two weeks of the football season but Henry has a decent game and he is in the race. Classic bullshite.

No, he had 3 less. They both played 13 games but AJ had 41 less snaps.

I think you are confusing the Heisman Trophy race with the Vegas odds. Just because odds are set doesn't mean the player is in the race.
