These threads are always funny because the corn dogs are the only ones that get bent out of shape about their nickname

And yet proclaim to all who will listen that the name does not bother them.

How is this derogatory?

You know, I've always wondered why everyone thought this was offensive. I assume the pronunciation is exactly the same as Aggie, so it seems to be about as useless as tits on a bull.

Pretty much

That one always confused me more than anything, even once I realized there was an insult implied in there...........somewhere

I think I know why Aggy is derogatory. I think they type it like that as if it was fAggy, without the f? If its not that, then

Not credible. I have never heard anyone in Alabama use the term "Swamp Kittens" referring to LSU, and I have lived here all my life.

Nah, the only explanation I got from our former big12 brethren that used the term was that "aggy" was supposed to imply that A&M people were cultish and such

Which is funny because most Ags will readily admit to that, so it falls kinda flat.

LSU fans look and act like carnival workers. Carnies smell like corn dogs. Thus, LSU fans are corndogs.

Some people would say "corndogs" but most LSU fans don't even think twice about it because it has nothing to do with them, it was stolen from another fan base. And let's face it, with the uniqueness of foods cooked at LSU tailgates, corndogs makes no sense, I could understand being called "gumbos, étouffées, boudins" but corndogs?

The first time my Auburn friend called me a corndog, I was clueless. I understand our fanbase's bewilderment at the choice. Y'all seem to enjoy it though, so whatever floats your boat.

This nickname seemed to bother the LSU fans when Saban said it. Coonass.

What I don't get about the "corndog" moniker is that it was invented in Texas, used on OU and now used for LSU. Be original people. At least Swamp Kittens has some relevance to our school.

I'm insulted that they can't come up with anything better. It's like they aren't even trying...
