TEs and RBs are our passing game.

Not really. At least not yet. I sure hope someone steps up and Brantley can find them.

WR is a weakness. It really makes no sense though. FL has never lacked for WRs. Now we can't find one worth a darn.

Brantley has been HORRIFIC throwing past 10 yards so far. I can't imagine Florida having a good offensive day if they can't throw the ball AT ALL.

How bad does not having CJ Mosley hurt? Of all the lb's on our defense he was the one with the perfect toolset to go up against these running backs

Honestly no, I haven't. I saw a stat on ESPN about Brantley's passing and it was pretty bad. Has he been able to pass long and help the underneath stuff be effective?

He has been pretty effective at intermediate passes.

His best throws are on 10-15 yard outs and comebacks and throws in the middle of the field.

He's not great by any means, just slightly above average.

But, this isn't the Brantley from last year.

Good question. Espn stated earlier that he probably wouldn't play. Has Saban said anything?

You are more than likely correct, the stat said something like 1-6 on passes 10 yards or more against Tenn ( it might have been against last weeks opponent )

His weakest point is the deep ball. I think he's improved his intermediate passing game enough to at least be respected by the defense.

Last year it was the infamous drag route check down on 3rd and 12 every time.

The passing game is a weakness for Florida at WR and QB.

What Florida needs is for Brantley to make good decisions, and to hit a few passes to wide receivers when they manage to get open.

Honestly, Florida does have a schematic advantage in that Alabama has to respect the edges and the flat, so the WR's should actually have more space then one might think to get open while Bama's DB's keep one eye peeled for the dump off passes. Still, even with that, someone has to make a play and I don't have a lot of faith. If they make plays, Florida can win.

The one thing Florida's WR's have been excellent at this year is blocking down field.

Florida's best vertical threat in the passing game is the TE. Reed and Christian are both fast and athletic, and could be a factor tomorrow.

We'll see I believe this game will be great, but only because I think Alabama will have a really tough time scoring too.

Im Interested to see this. These 2 are different this season. But they have struggled against Bama. Although Chris was out last season. Can't wait for this game

against UT he was like 1 for 6 of passes more than 10 yards down field.
they also lead the nation in field goals. redzone offense is questionable. they had way more opportunity to score but ended up with same amount of TD as UT.
if I was a Bama fan I wouldn't worry about this game at all. I think Bama's top notch D can shut down their one dimensional offense (screen, sweeps of Rainy/Demps)
Arky and UT can't tackle worth a shite and allows too many big plays but Bama's D is different.

Yeah I thought it was against ya'll. That stat is really bad. What did they do to score on ya'll? Long runs and runs after short catches?

Their Red zone offense is better than Alabama's.

Florida has scored 18 times in 19 trips with 11 total TD's (1 int on the year).

Also, Caleb Sturgis is 11-11 on the year kicking FG's.

Alabama is 16 of 18 in the red zone with only 9 TD's and 7 FG.

Alabama is 7-10 FG on the year.

Florida is more consistent in the red zone, and they have the better field goal kicking.

1st TD of the game for Florida against UT was on a nice pass, good mix of screens, runs, and ended with a 3rd down PA pass to the FB for a TD. 21 yard screen pass to Rainey, 28 yard run by Demps were the two big plays that drive.

Then they got 3 straight FG.

2nd TD was off an INT, they got the ball at the 44, then Rainey had a 14 yard run, Burton took a swing pass 12 yards, there was a personal foul, and then Burton got in from 1 yard out on 4th and goal.

Final TD was a dump off pass to Rainey that he took 83 yards to the house.

Added one more FG.

UF's D-line might stuff Bama's questionable O-line and running game. could turn out to be a low scoring game.

Trent Richardson was a football player participating in the sport of Track... These guys were track players trying to participate in football.

Yes, they are fast and good but I feel our Defense is going to crush them like they have never witnessed before

Only 1 person has rushed for over 100 against them in the last 50 games. Demps and Rainey could have a productive day but odds are they won't. Both teams are going after the run and want to make the other QB beat them.

5 teams have beaten Bama the last 4 seasons. All 5 of those qb's had int free days,4 of 5 qb's had 3 passing td's and a qb rating of over 190 (Bama's defense has averaged 74.4 the last 4 years). The average performance was 70% comp,222 yards,2.6 td's and 0 turnovers.

Plain and simple, you gotta have solid qb play to beat Bama.
