Smaller than I would have guessed, given Texas' size
I doubt if that number is counting the young men who are locked away in TDCJ.

Y'all think Freeze and Mullen go over districts and decide which black folk they can/can't recruit?

All we can tell you is that you guys shamed the SEC with that loss a few years ago...

You do realize Louisiana has the highest incarceration rate in the USA.

Yes, it's like that per capita thing they talk about in football, but Texas has more people locked up.

"in-state competition" is the most outdated concept in college football recruiting. Imaginary lines don't make a difference to 18 year olds

Then why do most stay in state? It doesn't matter that much in GA much but it does in most other states

I bet they have maps color coded with the demographic percentages and incarceration rates. Merlins and Freeze are bonafide sociologists

How LSU & UGA aren't winning the NC every year (with no instate competition) is beyond me.

Of course Texas has more people incarcerated.
I'm not sure I'm following you.

In terms of African American males, the numbers are as follows:

Shouldn't GA be killing it in basketball? It only takes 13 scholarship players.

Interesting chart. So other than LA, it isn't the redneck racist South locking them up?

Proximity matters, the actual state line doesn't. AU, Clemson, FSU, UF, Alabama, UT, USCe are all close enough to different areas in Georgia that prospects can stay close to home while also going out of state. UGA is one of many nearby options.

For a kid in Columbus, does "staying home" mean going to UGA or AU? A kid in Valdosta, UGA or FSU?
