What about Bama? I haven't really looked at their resume, but I assumed they were in a pretty similar position to us.

I think the consensus is they're okay even with a loss. They have a better conference record, better overall record, higher RPI, and better quality wins. I see Bama as locked in already

quote:Just looked at their season results. I don't see this on their resume. Swept by Ole Miss and MSU and no series wins against a top opponent.
better quality wins.
I could see them getting left out with a loss, but I agree they have a better chance of getting in with a loss than AU does.

Didn't they take one from both LSU and Vandy? Wins don't have to be series wins.

quote:They don't, but series wins mean more than single game wins in baseball. At least to me they do. AU finished strong with 3 conference series wins against strong competition. Bama didn't have any series wins against strong competition. Bama did however beat who they were supposed to and took a game each from LSU and Vandy, while AU let a few of those suppose to win games slip by and got swept by LSU and Vandy.
Wins don't have to be series wins.

quote:Yea, logic would agree with you as well. If the committee is looking for marquee wins though, they can boast the LSU and Vandy wins. Our's would be Arky? (OM, MSU, UF are all good wins, but they aren't ranked high in the polls). Who know what the committee prefers though

I wonder who we are pitching tomorrow? Kendrick or O'Neal seem logical if they are ready to play.

ETA: Though I think I would slightly prefer ONeal.

Tomorrow is a must win for us. I hope we don't hold anything back. If we beat Bama, we can basically throw away Game 6(LSU) to prepare for Game 9(OM or Arky)
Kendrick beat Bama once this year already

All I know is, if we lose, the dumbass coach made the wrong choice.

Does anyone know where I can find who the starting pitchers will be on Tuesday?
