He has taken our best fighting men from Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and across the South to create a regiment none can defeat.
He recently cut down the 5th Tennessee Volunteer Company without regard and must be stopped at once.
The troops and I are marching on Tuscaloosa presently and shall not return for a fortnight. As ever your devoted and faithful husband,
