I had the pleasure of traveling to Tuscaloosa for the game this weekend and honestly I was blown away. I don't have a single negative thing to say other than the wings at Buffalo Phil's could be bigger. Everyone my friends and I encountered were legitimately decent people and couldn't have been more different than the majority I you on here. The only thing remotely negative I saw was a brawl between two Bama fans because one was hitting on the others wife, but that could happen anywhere.

Basically, if by some chance you're one of the Bama fans I met Saturday I'd just like to say thanks for making my trip so pleasant.

To the Gumps on here that don't reflect my experience inTTown,

I've always enjoyed games in Tuscaloosa. Even had a few Bama fans pat me on the back and tell me it was going to be okay as we walked down the stairs back in 2008

There's a sister or cousin joke in there somewhere

I was expecting 95,000 Updykeish fans to be honest.

Dude, they're fricking wings. If you want to eat chicken, eat a thigh or breast.

The way people have fallen for the cheapest part of the bird just cracks me up.

It's only a 65/35% split (updykes/to semi-normal)

That's because their bandwagon is trash. The worst Bama fans are the ones in Mississippi.

I've always liked Bama fans even back when we beat them w/ Eli and Shula was coach. They have a large sidewalk trash contingent but that's what happens when you win a lot.

You won't usually see those folks in Tuscaloosa on gameday. A Day? Yes

Glad you enjoyed it. Alabama has the highest negative perception to reality ratio in the country when it comes to how the fans are perceived and how they actually are during a visit. The perception based on talk radio and the Internet (and rightly so in many cases) is of a fanbase dominated by entitled rubes and clueless rednecks that can't express a coherent thought who couldn't fin Tuscaloosa on a map. The actual experience on gameday in Tuscaloosa is completely different altogether.

In all honesty, the two WORST places I've been more than 2x in the SEC...and I'm talking trashy fans, strictly, AND this goes back as far as early 90s (Kendall Cleveland/ K. Faulk era) up to 2013

1. UGA by a country mile
2. Gainesville

Only times I went to T-Town, we won...reaction was about same as it was in Auburn.

They'll be out in droves for the ULM game this weekend. A ton of season ticket holders will hand those tickets off for face value or less.

You've never been there then. They are the smallest wings I've ever seen. Only reason I used to eat there is because they took Dining Dollars. Great location though!

That's why we went. Plus, the beers while you waited in line were nice.

I had a fun time with the Ole Miss fans I met in the Black Warrior Brewing Co. Lots of eye candy and lots of good talk.

Buffalo Phils sucks. Its get a lot of attention because its in the most convenient location on our main entertainment district. I was hoping there would be another addition on The Stip that served wings, but they just replaced Hungry Howies with Pieology Pizza.
