If I recall correctly, Cribbs, Brooks, and William Andrews were RB mates at Auburn...looking at their production both in college and in the NFL, that may have been the greatest SEC backfield...

Brooks played high school ball in my hometown...best HS RB I ever saw in person...

Yep, all 3 played in 2003. This would be my favorite trio

This is correct, pretty stout lineup for sure.

Joe Cribbs- James Brooks-William Andrews

Bo Jackson-Lionel James-Tommy Agee

Bo Jackson-Brent Fullwood-Tommy Agee

Cribbs was AFC Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl in 1980, 8 years in the NFL, 2 years in the USFL

Brooks spent 12 years in the NFL and went to 4 Pro Bowls

Andrews spent 6 years in the NFL and went to 4 Pro Bowls

Bo won the Heisman, of course, 4 years in the NFL, and went to the Pro Bowl and the MLB All-Star Game (only player to ever do so).

James spent 5 years in the NFL and in 1985 set the NFL records for all-purpose yards in a season with 2535 yards (broken by Derrick Mason in 2000 with 2690 yards) and receiving yards by a running back of 1027 yards (broken in 1999 by Marshall Faulk with 1048 yards).

Agee spent 7 years in the NFL and won two Super Bowl rings with the Dallas Cowboys in 1993 and 1994.

Fullwood spent 4 years in the NFL with one Pro Bowl.

bo jackson, brent fullwood and either joe cribbs or james brooks, cant remember which was there. but either set was freakin awesome

I don't even think that is the best AU backfield. I would give it to Cadillac Willams and Ronnie Brown

Were they all drafted in the First round?

Ronnie and Carnell were.

Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.

One Heisman winner. The other finished 3rd. Both All-Americans. Both first round draft picks

Oh, James could read and write just fine. What he WAS trying to do was create a courtroom pity party for himself so he could get out of paying child support.

Since RockyMtn went outside of SEC, I'll throw out Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes

I mean, Mizzou whooped that arse in the Cotton Bowl though ;).

Tony Temple broke that rushing record.

I'm not an Auburn fan, but the combo of William Andrews, James Brooks, and Joe Cribbs was pretty special. Too bad Doug Barfield couldn't find a way to make it all work.

Add in Caddy, Ronnnie, and Brandon Jacobs and it's just unfair. It's crazy the number of great combo backfields Auburn has had. RB U!

That game against us when McFadden and Jones combined for like 500 yards rushing was such a sad day.
