He sounded kind of defeated on the interview - he even admitted Ole Miss had already been punished quite a bit.
The tone has definitely shifted a bit on this case.

Wolken isn't necessarily an Ole Miss hater.

This is one of the more delusional takes I've read on the whole thing, and that is quite a claim I realize.
you find it delusional only because 95% of journalists who dare to carry on a public campaign of smear against your team wind up in the unemployment line...the one exception is Colin Cowherd currently. But he waters down his hatred of the Crimson Tide by disguising it as a hatred of the SEC in general.

Again, I don't know or follow the guy but he sounds like someone that thinks he is smarter than everyone so he writes hit pieces on pretty much everybody. You have to admit, Ole Miss has made it pretty easy to point and laugh at the handling of this thing right out of the gates. His reasoning might be off a bit but from the consensus on here, not many would disagree. It was never as bad as it seemed until it is. Would you not agree?

Wolken and Forde are 2 of the worst journalist. They only know how to write on 2 schools..Kentucky and Ole Miss
Wolken has made his living off 2 schools. Kentucky and Ole Miss. When Calapari left Memphis in 2009. Wolken wrote column after column on Calapari and how he hurt the Memphis program and his cheating at Kentucky. He did this from 2009- 2012.. Then began writing on Ole Miss from 2012- current. You would think he was formerly a beat writer for Louisville and State
Pat Forde- same thing except his writing on Kentucky cost him his job at espn in Nov 2011, after finding him doing unethical reporting and promising to get Calapari fired. He went to Yahoo, then like Wolken turned to reporting on Ole Miss in 2012.

quote:I just looked on Wolken's USA today site. 50 recent articles 3 on Nutt and 6 about Ole Miss. None on Kentucky. So, not really true. You must admit though, Ole Miss has been news worthy since they step on their hooter at least once a month.
