Dan is almost equivalent to how Stansbury was in hoops. Under-performing with nice talent, but still about as good as it can get at State.

This may be the most uneducated analogy I have ever seen.

Even as an Ole Miss fan, I agree completely. I do not like Mullen but he and Stands have ZERO in common.. And I'm not even gonna explain why. Too easy

Sherrill did; win the West, I mean.

Jackie also didn't win it until his 8th year as HC and they did that with an 8-5 (6-2) record in a season that saw Alabama 7-5 (4-4), LSU 4-7 (2-6), and Auburn 3-8 (1-7) combine to go 14-20 (7-17).

His first 7 years his record was 41-37-2.

Merlin is 36-28 in his first 5 while Jackie was 29-27-2.

Doesn't matter about all that. Someone implied that if an MSU coach wins the West, then they get a lifetime contract. Sherrill did and is no longer the coach. Understand, now?

ETA - plus, apparently, someone jumped the gun on this release. They are in negotiations but the deal has not been done yet.
