National pride is a waste of time. Pride is something you should feel when you accomplish something on your own, not just because you happened to be born on this particular patch of Earth with imaginary lines drawn on it. I used to get kicked out of class regularly for refusing to say the words "Under God" in the pledge.

I was like 6'0 280 in sixth grade nobody was beating me up. But being an atheist in the south, I was definitely discriminated against.
