I think he had a good reason to be mad about using the timeout.
100%. It was a first down and the time keeper never stopped the clock. Totally understand his reaction.

I personally think if Clemson gets that onside kick, we lose the game.

The game turned when Clemson got the ball at the 50 up 3 and They get a first down then fumble the snap on the next play to get behind the chains and got no points out of it. After that Bama scores then gets the onside kick. I firmly believe a touchdown by Clemson on that drive wins the game.

He acts like he is a player on the team who somehow just got promoted to head coach. He has great energy and I can see why players like him, but like you said - sometimes that energy is exhibited in childish ways.

This is precisely why Dabo will never be Alabama's HC...I like him, but he won't be the face of Alabama football.

I agree about the petulant child part, but not for the reasons you gave. He had every right to be pissed about the clock shite at the end of the first half. The onside kick thing was pretty stupid but if he honestly thought he had a gripe then I guess ok.

What turned me off was in his post game press conference he was ripping some of his players and it make me really uncomfortable. He didnt call their names or numbers, but he pointed out specific plays where "the guy had room to make the play but he just didn't." and it was just what he said but the way he said it, in pure disgust. I didn't like it and I'm usually a BIG Dabo fan because of his Bama roots. That seriously turned me off though and I'm not sure I will be as much of a fan of his after that.

With that said, I have never wanted him to be Alabama's future coach because I dont like his style of coaching, particularly on offense and his demeanor in terms of how we act and do things here at Alabama. It's just not a good personality fit, but after seeing that press conference last night it solidified me not wanting him to be our coach ever.

So, how should Dabo have handled the end of the first half? Just let Watson spike it and then they fix the clock? I think he did everything he could there given the screwjob he was getting

You express your anger in the moment and do exactly what he did: accept the fact that they're not going to change the ruling, try to kick your field goal, and go into the locker room and regroup for the second half. Just dumb to chase down officials and yell at them in the tunnels when you know they're not going to go back and fix it (not to mention that these are Pac 12 officials and you're in all likelihood never going to see that crew after this game again)

Again, nothing to do with whether he had a complaint or not (I totally agree, he did). But he voiced his displeasure on the field and it didn't result in them fixing it. Tough shite, officials suck, live with it.

I am Bama through and through but I can understand his frustration on those two points of contention. The clock did wind off two seconds after the first down completion and then started running again before the ball was spotted.

The other point about the kick and catch was already explained by another poster.

At any rate, as you mentioned, officiating is always going to have some iffy calls in any sport, and you just have to work around it.

I didn't think they should have called PI on Bama in the 1st qtr and I think they should have called PI on Clemson on a play later in game (guy was pulling down on Bama players jersey in end zone as he was trying to catch it, announcers even mentioned it), but whatever, it happens. I'd rather let them fight for the ball than call PI on every questionable instance of it.

Well, at least you'll always have those 3 wins and a long December to look back on when you reflect on 2015.

He's passionate. He has reason to be pissed about the timeout. And as it turned out, they missed that FG. Who knows if they would have scored at TD, but they could've had a shorter FG.

I would say him complaining about the onside kick was just disbelief.

Did he display good sportsmanship after the game was over?

I don't know, does he do it after every play that goes against his team and does he carry it off the field? If so, then yes absolutely.

or Kirby?

Haven't ever seen him do it (but then I don't watch a ton of Bama games, either). But if he does then I'll hold the same opinion.

Yeah I can look at the 3 wins or I can think about the orange bowl win, division champions and 11 overall wins the year before with the same QB we have coming back next year. Worry about your team.

So you have to rely on 2014 successes to get you to the 2016 season? That must suck.

There was only 6 seconds left. Hail Mary from the 50 at best. It'd be a jump ball with the numbers in Bama's favor. Could it have happened, sure, but not likely.

I just want to see a little poise and professionalism out of the millionaire coaches that are supposed to be the adults in a room full of teenagers and early 20-somethings. That's all
