South Carolina is going to win the east if Crowe comes back strong.

Let us know when the East puts 4 teams in the CWS. The West did it before expansion

Wait ummmmmm .... the West did it "before" expansion?

I'm the editor on the CWS wiki who built and propagated those tables ... if the West did it before '92 then by all means, let me know. I included their '97 participation. That still doesn't trump a 1,2,3 finish for the East in 2011. And it certainly doesn't trump UGA, SC and Vandy all having at least one National Championship.

And I could swear someone above is claiming Miss St and A&M have won National Championships?

I'll type it again ... LSU carries the West #Facts

To the best of my knowledge LSU is the only program in the conference with a winning record against SC unless something I am not aware of changed recently.

You're having trouble comprehending what is being said. It's expected at your advanced age.

I'm not getting the point you're making.

Tanner is on another level and by what you described, you agree.

Ray was an excellent coach and won National Championships once he learned not to be such a hard arse with his players ... Chad needs to learn to be a bit more of a hard arse at times, but he's learning.

Chad also had to get his arse out of the 3rd base box and into the dugout ... which he did last season and it showed with good results.

My bet is that Chad may well end-up winning more National Championships at SC than did Ray ... and he'll win more SEC Championships as well.

He's a naturally better coach than Ray ... he just hasn't developed instincts that Ray had thanks to Ray's years of coaching experience prior to coming to SC.

Ray would tell you the same thing.

But again, this year is going to tell us a lot about Chad. Chad's first couple of clubs suffered unreal injury bugs. Last year he took us to the Supers. This year's team is loaded and, knock on wood, healthy.

On paper at least, this is probably the best pitching staff I can ever remember us having and we've had some good ones. But we've got the sticks and the gloves this year as well.

Time will tell but this team has Omaha written all over it ... they are really impressive. Big, fast and strong and I think very well coached. It's the in-game instinctual calls that will make or break us this year ... Chad has to make the right calls at the right times. Ray became uncanny at doing that from about 2002 until he took the AD gig ... but it took him 15 years to get there.

The West sent 4 of the 6 schools to Omaha in 1997.

2 played for the national championship. Another was eliminated with 2 losses to a fellow West school.

Of course, now the divisions have 7 schools. So yes, before expansion.

Gump checking in. Cautiously optimistic about the new coach and making the field.

Auburn here. We are going to have a solid starting rotation... possibly a top 3 1-2 punch with Thompson and Mize if THompson is back healthy. If the pen is sorted out we will pitch it well. Im not sure we will hit more than 15 HR as a team
