2 things:
Strength and Conditioning, and maybe you are recruiting some injury prone players also. More to the equation than just luck.

4. Starting C who was 2nd team All SEC
5. 2nd team LB behind JRM
6. Starting CB in place of Sutton
8. Starting LT
9. Starting LG
10. Starting RT
11. Starting DT with O'Brien gone
12. Starting DT
13. True frosh CB forced to play due to injury
14. KR and 2nd team Safety
15. Starting Safety
16. Starting DT until dismissal
17. Second team WR not a factor

If so then he can be back next year but will likely take 2 years to get full strength & endurance back.

Kiffen was running clock. UT couldn't stop Bama'a third team running back. Saban doesn't usually put an entire second team in at a time. He mixes starters in with them. It is part of his "process". The theory being that the less experienced players learn from the more experienced players in game action. UT's defense was just gassed from chasing Hurts all game. Kiffen wasn't going fast and wasn't passing.I even remember thinking to myself,"Perhaps running the ball isn't the best way to keep this from getting more out of hand."
