I think David Greene has the record at 42 wins. He had the NCAA record until Colt mcCoy passed him.

I would call Greene's 42 more impressive with it being in the SEC. Though 48 is still impressive. 12 wins a year for 4 years.

What's funny is hes 3-0 against Tennessee with 779 yards and 4 TDs. I guess that's because Tennessee hasn't been ranked in 3 years though right?
