I agree UA is a top 4 team...at the least. I also think a 2013 committee swlecting FSU/AU/MSU and Baylor (or Stanford) shouldn't surprise anyone.

Since my prior post was at very bottom of 1st page:

This is their website

Principles
The management committee has charged the selection committee to select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
Conference championships won
Strength of schedule
Head-to-head competition
Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)
Other relevant factors such as key injuries that may have affected a team's performance during the season or likely would affect its postseason performance

It's impossible to have more than 5 un-beatens from the power conferences at this point, and they're all that matter anyway.

Nt that that would be any less of a shitstorm, but the possibility is pretty much nonexistent.

Its much more likely we'll be having the 11-1 non-champ v. 12-1 conference champ argument every year for the last slot. Or 3 11-1 champs for 2 spots.

That's going to be the new normal I think.

Yeah I know but I just want to see what happens when that 6th (mid major) unbeaten stomps it's feet and throws a tantrum.

Because the 5th team is Baylor, they might, but any gump that thinks they would go over a name program that is 5th, when Bama is third and couldn't win their own division is sorely mistaken. A one loss tu or Oklahoma coming out of the Big 12 as Champion goes over a one loss Bama that doesn't every single time.

Except the division concept is flawed....are you convinced that Alabama wasn't at least the second best team in the SEC this year? It's time for the SEC to eliminate the EAST/WEST format and put the top two teams in the damn championship game.

so in the 13th week if youre star play blows out a knee or shoulder and you still manage to win,you could not make the playoffs because of that?

Oh what a shite storm we are going to endure.

That would work great I think. When we go to 9 game slate have 2 or 3 set games for rivalry purposes and rotate the rest.

Personally I don't care for the 4 team playoff. I think it should actually be 6+2 teams. I say 6 because in all likely hood the 6 highest ranked teams will involve the winners of the 6 aq conferences and then whoever the next highest ranked two teams are.

There are only 5 power conferences now.

Why should a four-loss conference champion get a shot at the title? They should at least put some sort of prerequisite in there like they have to be ranked in the top 10 in the BCS standings to make the playoffs. Giving a team from an AQ conference an automatic berth to the playoffs because they won their conference is ludicrous.
