If your program had a past as elite as Alabama, then you would understand. Other SEC schools don't like a true historical perspective because Bama is at the top of whatever list you want to compile. True enough, the decade of probation/coaching carousel from 1997-2006 allowed many schools to narrow the gap with respect to all-time records but quoting selective history can allow you to find whatever statistics you desire. Then only barometer is complete history or no history. In the case of complete history...it's Bama by a mile. In the case of no history....it's still Bama until another team wins the crystal football.
