I've lived in Weakley County, TN for almost 20 years. 95% of the people here that claim to be huge Tennessee fans have never stepped foot in a college classroom. At least 75% of them could not name more than 2 players on the team.
I'm not talking out of my arse. Tennessee's fanbase is on par with Alabama in terms of people being fans by default. Every state has this problem. But with Tennessee being the only real university with competitive athletics in the state, you have a huge contingent of bandwagoners that do not have any past, present or future affiliation with the school.
I'm sorry, friend. Your fan base is littered with some of the most backwater hicks in all of the SEC. Mississippi State, Alabama, and Tennessee own this category.
