He seams to already have a load on his hands baby sitting Lane all the time! If he knew Smart was moving and didn't get as good of a DC, he could move himself to a new school if offered by one of these coach less programs and allowed to bring his own staff
Why would he move to a new school that wouldn't have the stacked roster he has at Bama just because he didn't hire a good DC? If he brought his staff with him as you suggest, he would still have the same DC

I mean it sounds far out. But honestly if I was a head coach and someone snagged my best assistant coach, I'd think about grabbing Kiffin and going to a new school! Get to go a new school start over one last time and have the whole entire staff at your disposal being such a big name coach. Then again he can basically do that at Bama. I think he's there to stay until he retires, which at earliest would be when his contract runs out. I don't know if he'd be more or less likely to do that if he didn't win another national championship. I don't know if he'd give up, or be hungry to win one last one

Yeah, but are you 63 years old?

Hey JoPa coached till he just about croaked... As long as you're good and have a passion for it you can coach till you die

Not to mention pulling the Urban Meyer and going to a school where it's easy to recruit and you play cupcakes every year doesn't sound to bad.

Joe Pa coached longer than he probably should have... and I certainly doubt he would have considered going to a completely different program that late in the game.

Urban is a completely different breed, though. More akin to a cockroach than a pygmy marmoset, as one might claim Saban is.

Best comment of the day! But do remember he said he wasn't leaving LSU... Boom Miami... He said he wasn't leaving Miami.... Boom Bama! That being said he finally has too much success to leave, at least I would think. The only thing he ever seams to be unhappy with is the fans from time to time

I honestly think it's more his age starting to catch up to him. It's more like we caught him at the right time in his life than anything.

More the media than the fans these days.

It's 50/50 Saban hates anything he doesn't have full control over! Lmfao

Saban rarely ever does anything without an express purpose behind it too... so of that 50%, I'd say 50% of that isn't him actually hating something, but trying to prove a point or get a message across.
For instance, I'm pretty well convinced that his tirade after the Georgia game this year was done for his players' benefit.

Good point! I honestly respect the hell out of Saban and who couldn't with his success. But for some reason I think he's starting to slip a little bit. Not much at all. He's still right there for NC's but he's just not there. That being said though, no one's wins it that much! Especially in the sec in this day and age

He might well be.
Like I said, he's 63.
Spurrier is 70.
Bryant was 69 when he stepped down.
That being said, however, Bryant won the AP MNC in '78 and an AP/Coaches MNC in '79, so who knows. Saban might have another run in him yet.

No doubt about it! He has the players to do it and the staff! I'm curious to see if he would quit if he won one more on the spot or stick with it

It's a good question. I guess it depends on what motivates him to keep going.
I doubt money is a very big factor by now. If he feels like he's proven everything he feels he needs to prove as a head coach, he might just retire to the lake. He might be interested in another shot at the NFL, but I rather doubt that.
His style of coaching seems to fit better with the personalities of high school graduates and college-age kids than with guys who are making as much as or more than him each year.

and it is easy to spot how jealous y'all are. actually, it's pathetic to see your kind of post time after time after time.
I think door to door salesmen are less annoying than you aggy's.
