Could the NCAA be investigated by the FBI next

If the FBI investigations find out that the NCAA has turned a blind eye to improper recruiting/benefits then what? How much money does the NCAA make off these schools?

I proposed something similar in the pinned thread. It certainly makes you wonder why the NCAA has allowed this stuff to continue for years when basically anyone who followed the sport regularly knew this stuff was going on.

NCAA Death Penalty
This is true lack of institutional control. To the letter of any interpretation.

After letting UNC and Duke walk, the NCAA definitely needs to be investigated. Corrupt to the core.

Will this be the impetus for the P5 to break away? If your governing body is corrupt and impotent why keep them around? The NCAA not only turned a blind eye to it, they fostered it by ignoring coaches who spoke out about the corruption in basketball recruiting. Then you have the whole conflict of interest angle: they didn’t police it because it would have hurt their tournament and thus, their revenue.

Wonder what's gonna happen to the PK80 tourney when this is all said and done?

NCAA has no legal subpoena power, so hard for them to do anything against schools with super powerful alums etc.
I actually think if the ncaa plays this right they can get things in shape like they need to, and have the fbi on their side.

I don't think the NCAA will exist in 10 years the way we know it now. The P5 will form their own organization

Preach on brotha. Merkel on that main line. Tell him what you want. Call him up and tell him what you want.

Heard that might be the end of NCAA as we know it.

The benefits are only improper because the NCAA says so. If they don't care, then the FBI really doesn't have a case for fraud against Auburn.

I hope so...

NCAA has been active in coverups, especially at kansas. They will have people arrested during this ordeal, too. Many of the ncaa infractions folks just happen to be ku grads and have been busted before blackmailing players.
I would assume it will go well beyond ku incidents but those are a sure bet.

Insert X school that is our rival in some sport we care about is dirty and the NCAA covers it up! 100%

I guess it's conspiracy theory but I have seen speculation that perhaps the ncaa tipped off the fbi, as if it took much of a tip.

There are not that many schools represented by ncaa infractions folks. There aren't that many of them but ku grads make up the largest portion by far. those are facts, not some rival fan just whining.

It's hard for me to believe anything that the media says but I heard that there have been talks about P5 schools breaking off from the NCAA and start their own league.
