I like East Carolina. Everytime I make the suggestion it is greeted by downvotes.

it is because their academics are atrocious

we like to make fun of the Mississippi schools, but ECU is a real step down & there would be huge resistance to them getting in from conference presidents

hell, UGA would be leading the charge to keep them out just based on this...

I think a person needs to consider the wider culture of collegiate athletics to try and figure out what is going to happen with all of this. The scandals that have come to light in recent years are increasingly egregious and at some point the NCAA and these conference officials are going to have to start putting their feet down.

I mean, for fricks sake, if some of the rumours bear true here, you could potentially be looking at RICO lawsuits over this Ole Miss shite.

If the FBI gets involved in this Ole Miss thing, they're as good as gone anyways. May as well make it official so you can make the appearance of taking a tough stand. I'm not saying I want this to happen -- just trying to look at this realistically.

This will never happen. Not sure how the vote would work, but presumably either/both the university presidents/A.D. would vote. No one wants to open this door.

Charter members that slit their own throats repeatedly and embarrass and endanger the league do.

There's some validity to the threat of RICO lawsuits out of this and an ambitious lawyer might say the SEC had a duty to look into the situation just like the NCAA did. Ole Miss has kicked over a hornets nest.
