Mr Tennessee aka Dodson in year 2.

We add one of the best HS backers in the nation in Hines III.

Maybe Alaka stats heathy and you have the core to a very talent group.

Not only no, but frick no. No one is afraid of any Texas A&M defensive players. Nobody.

A&M's defense was atrocious against the run last year and yall lose your leading tackler at linebacker.

Plus Chavis is a terrible linebacker coach.

He is terrible recruiter but a pretty good coach. However he is getting old and his scheme is out of date

It wouldn't surprise me at some point the LB corps turns the corner. As long as Chavis doesn't play favorites and play a really bad athlete it'll eventually be good.

Chavis did start DJ Welter over Kendell Beckwith who was drafted in the 3rd round.

I'm still scratching my head over that.

Not just Beckwith. He started Welter over Kwon Alexander, Lamar Louis, Debo Jones, and Duke Riley as well.

hang on to the White kid for '18 and let Hines grow a bit and 2019 there should be some talent. Depth dunno about.

Stat leaders (linebacker) from 2016 (returning players in bold)

Tackles

1. Shaan Washington - 104
2. Otaro Alaka - 74
3. Claude George - 51
4. Richard Moore - 29
5. Tyrel Dodson - 27

Tackles for loss

1. Claude George - 11.5
2. Otaro Alaka - 9.0
3. Shaan Washington - 6.5
4. Richard Moore - 2.0
5. Tyrel Dodson - 1.5

Sacks

1. Claude George - 3.5
2. Shaan Washington - 2.5
3. Otaro Alaka - 2.0
4. Richard Moore - 1.0

If you were to look at those numbers, you'd think it's probably better that the majority of those linebackers aren't returning.

Again? When was it decent to begin with? I mean it can't get much worse, but losing Garrett and Hall might help, they both whiffed on running plays 80% of the time

Not since Von Miller and Michael Hodges left after the 2010 season.

It hasn't been even ADEQUATE since Sean Porter and Johnathan Stewart left after the 2012 season.

That Von Miller led D was trash. He never amounted to anything right? He's just going to go down as better than any LSU defender ever.

That would be Glenn Dorsey or Tyrann Mathieu, both of whom I'd take over Von in college.
