I personally love corndogs and will eat them whenever I can. It doesn't bother me in the least that someone refers to me as a corndog and I can't think of one other person I know that is troubled by this nickname. I think most LSU fans, like me, think it's funny that other fan base's seem to think this is an insult. Most of us look at it like the person is handicap and doesn't know what they are saying, so we just smile and move along.

It would be like someone walking up to an Auburn Fan (or pick your school) and saying you're a Bobsled, or maybe calling someone paperclip. It doesn't make any sense and just seems like a random word...but it's a tasty word, so we don't know what to think about it. Just remember that when you hear a retard saying silly things to you, just nod your head and move away from them...because the jokes really on them, they just don't know it.

Well the corndog name wasn't based on LSU fans eating corndogs it was LSU fans smelling like corndogs

I was making an invalid assumption that LSU fans smelled like corndogs because they ate corndogs. But now I see my error, LSU fans smell like corndogs for reasons other than that they actually consume corndogs.

...Now I get it! That really IS funny!

I've been going to LSU games since I was a child, and I've never once seen a corn dog at a tailgate

LSU fans are not mad about being called corndogs. Nobody takes it personally because it doesn't really apply to anything associated with LSU. Other fan bases seem to have made it up from thin air and decided LSU fans must be offended by it. It's like repeatedly calling a guy with a full head of hair "baldy" then pointing and laughing. And "Baldy" is looking around thinking WTF? Who is the idiot in this scenario? It's weak, it's dumb and it's lazy. And it's dumb. I know I already said dumb but you all seem a little slow. (The b is silent by the way). The backstory was made up after the fact and is really weak too. If somebody had ever said LSU fans smell like corndogs even one time before two years ago, it may make sense. But nobody did. Ever. That's why "Gumps" is so, so perfect. Forrest Gump is the most popular brain dead character to ever grace the big screen. And there he was, going full "Simple Jack" in an Alabama uniform. That big, goofy open-mouthed, moron captured the essence of their program and fan base and immortalized it forever. Well done you goofy bastard. Gold star. Gumps stuck. And it stuck hard. Because it's the pinnacle of fan base stereotypes and insults. And the best you lame-os can come up with is corndogs? Really? That's why the LSU fan base seems bothered. It's like you didn't even try. Corndogs? Oh no! Are we dummy heads too? Gumps is out there to model and emulate and you go with freaking corndogs. You other fan bases should be ashamed. Corndogs...

If it doesn't bother you then why did you go to the trouble of writing all that? Honestly, you seem a little upset. I started a thread on the tiger rant about y'all being called corn dogs & a lot of LSU fans admitted that it drove them crazy.

I just said "that's why the LSU fan base seems bothered". There is a difference between being bothered and being insulted. Go back and read it again. Read it slowly. Sound out the words and follow along the lines with your finger. See. That's insulting. Maybe both.

Ok.. I gotcha.. and I'm not trying to bad mouth or trash talk LSU but it would seriously piss me off to be known as corn dogs.

I would fight someone IRL if they called me a "corn dog" on the internet.

And I love to eat corn dogs.

I've never once seen a corn dog at an lsu tailgate. Best food in the SEC by far. The corn dog thing doesn't bother me at all especially when I know it really refers to Nebraska, but coming from an aubbie fan, go figure

And yes. Corndogs are unusually delicious. I usually drop a few in the hot oil after frying my turkey for Thanksgiving. Wait. LSU vs A&M on Thanksgiving Day. Corndogs on Thanksgiving Day. Maybe it IS true.

That's what I'm saying. Grill em up then dip them in mustard mixed with hot sauce, you'd have to be commniss to not find that appealing.

There may be an LSU it bothers but I haven't met them yet. I find it amusing because that is the best insult the auburn fan base could come up with. It's another example of their lack of originality. Taking a poem from the big 12 written about the Cornhuskers and inserting LSU. Good stuff

Where did this nickname for LSU fans come from?

LSU fans smell like corndogs because when the wind blows from the north, campus smells like the Weinerschnitzel on Highland Road.

No self respecting coonass would eat a corndog unless they were away from home, starving and even then Vienna sausage would be a more common choice. One thing we have is groceries of high caliber and corndogs don't fit that bill here although in some of the other SEC states I've been to they'd be topshelf grub.

I don't know. Corn dogs are pretty cheap and tasty every once in a while.

They sold corn dogs at Memorial Stadium, and when LSU stole "Death Valley" they accidentally took the corn dogs too.
