I can't stand this comment. I hear it all the time and it makes my skin crawl. There is always a safe way. Especially when it comes to preventing fatalities. Somewhere there was a failure that could have been prevented. It did not just "happen."

I didn't say it just happened. I said these things happen and that is fact. I don't know what exactly transpired for this accident to occur but I never said this or any accident couldn't be prevented. Don't twist what I said.

These things don't just "happen". Falls should never happen in this day and age.

I was afraid Adrian Briskey was out on bail and went to Texas for another shooting spree.

So sorry to hear about this. Construction work much , much safer than it was several decades ago when there were numerous deaths on most large construction sites such as NY high rises, the Hoover Dam, etc.

From OSHA:

quote:

Since 1970, workplace fatalities have been reduced by more than 65 percent and occupational injury and illness rates have declined by 67 percent. At the same time, U.S. employment has almost doubled.

I am sure some guy in 1970 said it happens. It is a fact.

Man I am not going to get in a pissing match with you in a thread about a young mans death. I am going to agree to disagree and let it go. Again thoughts and prayers to this man's family.

It is possible in construction for everyone to be doing everything right, and yet a fatality still occur. Hell, it's possible for that to happen while your driving down the road. Joe is driving down the road, a blowout occurs on his front tire due to road debris that he can't see, his car shifts to the left, where it hits some loose gravel and spins out, sending him right into the semi coming from the other direction.

I have no idea what happened in this case. None at all. But I do know that terrible accidents can sometimes happen even when everyone does everything right.

What caused the blowout?

This whole deal hits home for me. I hope something can be learned from this tragedy that saves another person's life.

Road debris that you can't see. Might have been a meteor, or a piece of a satellite, or a child's toy, or a pair of binoculars that popped out of the back of someone's truck.

Me, too.
