We never wanted to join that damn conference in the first place and we left it almost as fast as we could.
The world would have been very different if A&M joined the SEC back in the early 90s right after Arkansas did. From what I read things were fairly close to happening.

The better point would be if Texas A&M had never left the SIAA because Texas told them too, they would have been a SEC charter member school.

If you just had the balls to stand on your own two feet and leave Texas and Oklahoma State behind, but that will not happen so you probably get shuffled off to the PAC and time zones where most of the country does not watch college football.
Sad days indeed for a former football power but at least you are not Nebraska having to take marching orders from a team that has not been a factor in decades in Ann Arbor and another team like Texas in attitude residing in Columbus.
