Meijer has liquor stores practically inside the grocery store...

Nope, not in the actual store/grocery building, a seperate building that was in front of Meijer. Also, Sams has the same set up as well as several Krogers.

Holy shite, I had no idea that Liquor Barns didn't exist outside of KY. I'm never leaving here. It's final.

I imagine the grocery store lobbiest would do anything to keep stores like the "Barn" out of Louisiana

Yeah that's the thing, in La you can buy liquor, beer, wine, etc. in just about any convenience store. That's good in a way but it also limits selection big time, and it doesn't allow places like you're talking about a chance in hell of being successful in La. I'm all for state government, but it seems like it would make more sense for the states to all have similar laws concerning alcohol, and to take it further it varies by county (obviously). Just seems pointless to me having all of these different laws about alcohol depending on where you are

The one on Hurstbourne here in Louisville is in the building but you can't access it from the store. You have to go out the door and then back in to get to it.

All liquor stores in Texas close at 9 p.m. every night. You can't buy anything but beer & wine after 9 p.m.

When I moved to Dallas I couldn't believe it. There are also wet and dry parts of town. You may have to drive two or three miles south of west just to buy beer.

fricking Nazis running the state and churches running different parts of town.
