It is. Alabama directly recruits against LSU for many of the same players. Not winning another National Championship is definitely a positive for the LSU program in that way alone. LSU and Clemson aren't competing for many of the same players.
Even an Arkansas education should understand this

Oh, please. Just the fact that the SEC Rant had to be created soley because of the amount of flaming Bama fans were doing on the Tiger Rant is proof enough that this is bull shite.
Since Saban went to Bama it's created an intense dynamic between the fanbases. It might not be a "rivalry" in a true sense, but to say Bama fans don't "give a frick" about LSU is laughable.

Bama posters were starting LSU threads yesterday, 10 days after LSU's season ended and the day after Alabama played in the NC game. But "they don't give a frick about LSU."

Well we better win it all next year else L6U will. I would hate to see them win back2back NC's. They don't even have to be in the playoffs to win a NC. Completely unfair but that's how it is.
Sorta brings back fond memories of December 2011, when the media (not the BCS formula & BCS voters) chose to place a 3rd place SEC team into the NC Game over a 12-1 Conference Champion with a much stronger SOS (supposedly 2 strong BCS criteria) - who was told if they beat OU to win the Big 12 they would be in the NC Game.
Of course it didn't hurt that the 3rd Place SEC team's coach was allowed to go on national TV to cry for his 3rd place SEC team's mulligan.
