I am impressed by your commitment to obscure UGA social media activity. What other neat things have we posted over the past 5 years?

I googled "UGA back to back division champions" and it was pretty much one of the first images.

The internet is hard.

You have a fixation on rings. There have been many divison rings in UGA's history (you can even find a few on eBay from time to time). Why is that?

And of course we put out a tweet of the achievement on May 10, 2013 after the 2012 rings had been delivered. And since then? Footnote in a media guide.

What question?

The one where you're bragging about winning many division titles? Doesn't that kind of counter your original point of not celebrating division titles?

At Mizzou, you celebrate winning a division twice in a row. Everywhere else, we relegate losing the SECCG twice in a row to a footnote in a media guide.

You relegate it to a footnote after the rings have been passed out. You left out a little bit of information there bud.

They pass out rings to players after bowl games for every player on every team in the country If you want to make an argument, stick to the social media post. The rings are irrelevant

I wasn't aware winning the East was a bowl game victory.

Florida Outback Bowl Ring

OSU Cotton Bowl ring

A&M Alamo Bowl ring

South Carolina Gator Bowl ring

Hell, Ole Miss gave out rings for a Peach Bowl that they lost embarrassingly

Point being, every team gives every player a ring at the end of the season to commemorate SOMETHING. UGA giving out rings after winning a division isn't anything new or noteworthy; they'd have gotten rings for a bowl victory at least in 2012 with or without the division.

And point being, that's more than a footnote about losing in the SECCG

I'm sorry, I'll amend my original post to more correctly say "a footnote in a media guide and a reminder to the individual players who have rings to commemorate the occasion"

You've become more offended by my slight jab at Carolina touting an ACC championship in their stadium than the Mizzou fans I was trying to troll. Late night?

You're on a women's softball thread.
Just FYI.

Nah, just bored on a sunday morning.

I'll be the first to admit those banners are there because we don't have much else in regards to history.

I mean, I get it. But I'd just stick with the banners of individual player records. I actually wish UGA would do something like that in the concourses (but then we can't even get a statue of Herschel or Sinkwich on campus so go figure)

So we should take our faux argument elsewhere and let this thread fall to the second page? You do realize that, though we're not discussing Mizzou softball (woo!), we are at least keeping a Mizzou athletic accomplishment at the top of the page for all to see, right?
