6 of UT's coaching staff members were former assistants who at one time or another coached alongside Kirby Smart. They all know how he thinks and know his trends. That's bothersome to know. We've had some injuries; hopefully, they'll be alright by Saturday.

Writer, Jeff Sentell, of The AJC, brought out some interesting facts and numbers to help the DawgNation calm down a bit:

*Georgia has played two lesser opponents in Arkansas State and Murray State.
*So have a lot of the nation’s top 10 teams.
*Arkansas State and Murray State (FCS) are a combined 5-5 so far in 2019.
*The Bulldogs also played a “down” Vanderbilt team (if there is a thing) as their only conference opponent.
*The Commodores do not appear to trend statistically among the top 100 teams in the NCAA FBS.
*Georgia has faced a consensus Top 10 team at home in Notre Dame.
*The best highest-rated offense UGA has seen is Arkansas State (Rank: No. 50)
*The best highest-rated defense UGA has seen is Notre Dame (Rank: No. 53)

The truth is, a lot of the nation’s top teams will have some of those warts. LSU has faced a series of teams with total defense national ranks in Georgia Southern (No. 90), Texas (No. 102), Northwestern State (No. 112 in the FCS) and Vanderbilt (No. 125) so far amid its offensive onslaught.

Oklahoma’s resume of the same defensive speedbumps rankings goes Houston (No. 121), South Dakota State (No. 6 in the FCS rankings), UCLA (No. 127) and Texas Tech (No. 66) so far.

Alabama has torn up Duke (No. 42), New Mexico State (No. 128), South Carolina (No. 67) and Ole Miss (No. 97) in 2019.

Ohio State has the nation’s No. 2 defense. It has taken on offensive titans rankings like Florida Atlantic (No. 62), Cincinnati (No. 73), Indiana (No. 70), Miami (OH) (No. 130) and Nebraska (No. 47) this fall. The Buckeyes and their No. 8 offense have seen teams with the following total defense ranking so far: FAU (No. 86), Cincinnati (No. 23), Indiana (No. 36), Miami (OH) (No. 101) and Nebraska (No. 77) this season.

The highest-rated teams have yet to face top-tier competition as of yet. Where does everybody rank having said all that?

I think Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Auburn all have similar numbers. As such, this season is going to be war and I think it's going to be the most fun and exciting SEC season that there has ever been in the history of the conference.

Dawgs & Vols, Gators & Tigers get it all started this Saturday. Can't wait.

Rat, I appreciate your posts. But you can't cram that much shite into a single op. Even the good posters here aren't going to read all that shite. I know you are trying to be a savior here, I have been watching you, but this is just too much.

You don't have to dumb it down, just trim it down, and release it in smaller batches.

I feel for their students and fans, but as long as Phil is there, the athletic department is getting what they deserve. They fired an ad for wanting to hire a proven winner in Mike Leach. I would be furious if I went there.

OP writes too much to be an alter. God forbid, if you are an alter, you are a freaking joke.

IYAM, I think OP is a genuine fella; he just hasn't figured out the internet yet. Kind of feel sorry for him. Nice guy most of the time, means well, etc.

but i wish he'd stop posting

out of 130 FBS teams, we are somewhere in that 122-128 range. There’s not more than 10 teams in FBS that we would beat.

Your third string could run the same play the entire game and win by 20.

Honestly, I'd love for Tennessee to have even a small chance but they're completely broken.

More broken than Florida State, and that's saying something. I feel bad for Pruitt because I don't ever want to see someone get fired, but he really should have taken a G5 job.

I'm interested to see who Tennessee will go with after this coaching staff, though. I really, really don't want Mike Leach to coach there so hopefully they're too stupid to hire him.

They'll get someone with the money they have. But they're definitely looking at a long, long rebuild time frame. Like a decade. There's always an OC/DC who wants to get a raise and try their hand at the HC gig.

Your players can’t even drive around campus without being accosted by police. As you heard, most of them fire upon police where they hail from, so I’m not so sure players of measurable skill will want to be there.

“Most is them fire upon police” this statement is indefensible, you are talking about 1 player on an 85 man roster and he only constitutes a little over 1% of the total Team. Would take at least 43 cop shooters to be a majority of the team. You are wrong again
