The hate for Spurrier unites Georgia and Tennessee fans alike.

I'll echo the sentiments of the other Ags: MU and Arky... maybe Alabama. But I'll add OU to the list. Disdain for Texas.

I approve this message, UF has a long time reputation for being the pricks they are. Having been raised in Central Florida, I had to put up w/ their sorry asses in elementary/middle/high school, back when they thought they were the shite, when in actuality, Miami was the shite back in those days, and so when the Canes rose to prominence, they quickly became my second favorite team after AU.
As an AU student in 1993, I remember a pack of gaytors came busting into the McDonalds on campus (the night before the game), they were yelling about how they were gonna beat our asses, doing the obnoxious gaytor chomp. They even walked back out of that McDonalds (cause they weren't getting any attention), to harass people in the parking lot. Their fans sure knew how to get the hell out of Dodge when they lost though.

Most success Arky has had in the past 20 years was when Nutt was coach.

Most success OM has had in the past 20 years was when Nutt was coach.

He destroyed your programs by creating unrealistic expecations for programs that can't inherently maintain long term success.
It's a bitter pill, but you might as well swallow it.

I beg to differ sir.

When I was in school in the early 80's, Florida was hated BIG TIME and it wasnt nice. We played UF home and home and it was a hateful rivalry. Got worse when Spurrier showed up and started rubbing everybodys nose in it. Florida fans were obnoxious as hell and that extended all the way to their cheerleaders.

in 1987, Wife and I were stopped in Opelika at a shell gas station just off the highway. Im pumping gas, Wife is inside buying a coke. Up pulls a van of UF Cheerleaders in uniform. Im wearing AU garb. Wife is too. these kids get out of the van and start 4 letter swearing at my wife about how Florida is going to kick "our" asses as if we are playing ourselves.

I reminded the little bitches that they were in OPELIKA ALABAMA. A call to the cops would put them in jail...in uniform. That would probably not go well with UF administration. They shut up and drove on. As I recall, we won the game. But I really hated Florida BIG back then. It was not a nice rivalry.

Georgia was a good rivalry then, and Bama was Bama. But, Florida had some hate in it.

I was a student in the early 80's too. I remember the Greg Pratt t-shirts.

There will always be a certain aspect of "hate" in any rivalry. But, comparitively, the UF "hate" was low.

Why the heck do you think so many people miss the UF rivalry to this day? It ain't because it was so excruciatingly low and dirty.

For AU:

Tennessee. They dislike UGA and Bama and our games with them are usually pretty civil affairs. I also know a number of mixed TN-AU families from Chattanooga and other areas.

Spurrier teams. Never hated UF too much, don't hate USCe. We're not allies, but we get along.

From the AU side, most AU fans I know like LSU. I mean, we want you to be embarrassed and want to beat the shite out of you, but I don't have animosity toward LSU. Some LSU fans like us for hating Alabama fans, some have us #1 on their hatred list, so who knows.

As an aside, it'll be interesting to see what happens with TAMU. It seems in recent months that their crush on Alabama has faded, but we'll see if they can make any other friends ("we don't need friends, we're Texas A&M!!!").

Loved the Auburn rivalry. I think UF and Auburn have somewhat of a mutual respect. Met many Aubies in B'ham and have several Aubie friends in Jax. All were great to be around. None were sidewalkers.

For Ole Miss and State, it's Southern Miss. Southern Miss is gross, and they're stupid. Both fan bases agree.

State has scheduled a football game with Southern.

i don't think anyone at Tennessee ever despised Fulmer. They knew it was time for him to hang it up, but you're talking about a guy that was a former player, on the coaching staff for 28 years, and extremely loyal to the university even since his forced resignation. There's a difference in thinking it was time for a coaching change and despising a guy. He brought Tennessee it's first national title in nearly 50 years in 1998, and won a boat load of game for them over about a 10 year span. Now, Johnny Majors on the other hand.....but that's a completely different story

to answer the OP, for LSU it would be different based on what fan you're talking to, as different fans of different generations hate different teams.

LSU and Auburn for their hate of Alabama
LSU and State for their hate of Ole Miss
LSU and Alabama for their hate of Auburn
LSU and Vandy for their hate of Dinardo (although I think any fan hating Dinardo is being ridiculous as I'm not going to hate a guy who seemed like a good guy because he was a poor coach)
LSU and Texas for their hate of A&M

Ole Miss and UT were regular opponents. We've played your orange asses more than we have played Alabama or Auburn.

if it wasn't such a dump, it'd be nice if those teams still played each other in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis (played in Memphis about 25 of the 64 total meetings), although that series has been pretty one-sided historically

I wouldn't go as far as saying he destroyed either program, especially Arkansas.

In his final two seasons at Arkansas, he won the west in 2006 and went 8-4 with a Cotton Bowl trip his final season. There was a lot more going on behind the scenes at Arkansas that led to his parting ways with them. But I have a hard time saying a coach with 3 SECCG appearances at a school like Arkansas can be considered anything close to destroying the program, especially considering that Arkansas only had one bad year (the following season) after his exit from the program.

As to Ole Miss. I guess you could say he gave up his last season, which really hurt the program. However, he came into that program, which had won just 10 games (3 in the SEC) the past 3 years combined, and led them to two straight 9 win and Cotton Bowl winning seasons his first two years there. He also left enough skill guys upon his departure for Ole Miss to be able to turn a 2 win season in 2011 into a bowl win season the following year.

Destroying a program is what Curley Hallman did to LSU, Larry Coker did to Miami, or Dooley/Kiffin did to Tennessee.

Bama and Tennessee were strangely bonded for the last couple of Fulmer's years as HC. He had become somewhat despised by both fanbases at that time.

That's incorrect. He was never despised by UT fans. Coming to the realization that it was better for both parties to part ways would be more of a accurate statement. Granted, that's stating it a little more delicately then what actually happened. However, to say he was despised by us after everything that he had done/contributed is a dis justice to Phil. He caught a huge amount of flak towards the end of his tenure, but he was and still is a loved figure with in the fan base.

If Auburn and Alabama were as irrelevant as Ole Miss, both programs could pay each and every one of their players a million dollars apiece and most people still wouldn't care
