You know I essentially stopped watching tv two years ago. It had got the point where the commercials just so overwhelmed anything I wanted to watch that I lost interest. I saved a bunch of money and I now watch movies all the time. Anyway, I just subscribed to sling tv just so I could watch football and Jesus, has the commercial situation actually gotten worse? Is it just out of control greed? Is that what's killed tv? It's a damned shame because I enjoy watching football but I'm about to drop that too.

And when you're at the game it seems like it goes on forever.

I distinctly remember that 99% of college football games televised all through the 70's NEVER lasted more than 3 hrs., usually about 2+45. The rare exceptions was when two very heavy pass oriented teams would play each other with a lot of sub 10 yd. completions. I bet the average time today is close to 3+30.
