Actually I have been following Matthews on twitter since he announced he was coming to Auburn. Personally, Im ok with second chances. however, those come with a LARGE dose of humility and very hard work.
As far as I am concerned, this kid needs to disappear into the classroom and the weight room and appear when he is eligible. Get off social media and get busy growing up.
Dont know who it is, whether an upper classman, or the S&C coach, or his position coach, but Tray Matthews needs to quit being the story until he can grow the frick up.
Auburn has a pretty good chemistry at the moment. We dont need somebody messing that up.
Im starting to wonder if the UGA folks have it right about him.

No. He started over a walk-on and a 4th year Jr who had been beaten out by that walk-on.
Except for one thing...he was hurt too much and didn't play enough last year to be considered a starter. Going by snaps, he was actually 3rd string behind that walk-on and that redshirt junior.

I watched every Georgia game last year. Matthews is not instinctive and not an impressive athlete. His ceiling is an average SEC safety. It is what it is. There's a reason the guy wasn't a top 50 player coming out of high school.
