I expect Charter to pick it up.

No other cable company has to fear for their lives if they don't pick it up like Charter.

Just called Cox and they said if Comcast is getting it, they should be getting it as well. Said they have had hundreds of requests for it.

Since Comcast bought Time Warner does this mean Time Warner is getting SECN too?

I wonder by how much? If ESPN is charging cable providers $1.40, it should raise your bill by about that same amount shouldn't it?

Simple economics says no. I am sure Comcast, in some hair brained scheme to turn a profit, will be charging it's subscribers a bit more.

You would have to think so. But then again, not much about the media business is logical. There will probably be some obscure clause in a contract that doesn't allow it to happen that easily.

Generally Comcast waits to implement new technologies before they raise your bill. The addition of the SEC-N may make no change to your bill this year but when you have to upgrade your equipment ( set-top box, cable modem, ie) then they ease that price up a little. But then you can call their customer service department and threaten to drop them and they will lower your bill lower than what you are currently paying PLUS throw in a porn channel or HBO for free.

Comcast/xfinity doesn't care how much YOU pay. It is all about number of subscribers to them. You can conceivably complain so much to them that you pay $10/month and and have every channel available in HD plus all premium channels for free before they will lose you as a customer. I really have never understood the hate for comcast. If you know how to raise a little hell you can get killer deals from them.

I love Comcast. I've dealt with Uverse, Direct, and dish. Comcast is the best of the bunch.

Don't get mad.

My experience has been the opposite. Aaaaaand, isn't Comcast the most hated company in the US or at least top 5?

Why would I be mad? Comcast is my favorite and now I know they're getting the SECn. I'm thrilled, all the channels and a bill that's $62.17 a month

The good news is that Comcast is big enough to put the pressure on the other major players in the market. Cox needs to get on the stick now.
