Don't forget you can get Tropical Liqueurs "to go" ... Tiger Paw / Silver Bullet mix will have you feeling good before a game.

While they will let you leave, it is technically not legal and a cop can be a dick and give you an open container. I don't think they would ever do that on gameday.

Flat Branch has great food and beer (which they brew). I would highly recommend going there, but be sure to give yourself an extra hour for a potential wait.

Also, shakespeares pizza is quite good and a Columbia favorite.

I will definitely be hitting up some Trops when I get in town. Perfect way to start out a tailgate.

Grab a few sliders and beers at Booches - it's an old pool hall downtown that has been operating downtown since the 1870s. Best cheap food in town.

CJs is a great downtown option for some good hot wings and beer; the place has odd hours though so you'll have to check beforehand.

Shakespeare's is a popular, local pizza place. The original is downtown and seems to attract a lot of tourists but I honestly think it's a bit overrated. Still good, though.

For finer dining, I recommend Sycamore (downtown) and CiCi's City Broiler (no, not the shitty pizza chain; it is not downtown, however).

For bars, it depends on your age but there are tons of options downtown but IMO the best college bars/gameday bars are: Harpos, Bengals, Campus (called Big 12), Shiloh (slightly older crowd), and Willies/Fieldhouse.

If it's decently warm out, check out Tropical Liqueurs for a tasty alcoholic slushy (downtown, it's a local favorite).

For late night/drunk food, hit up El Rancho and order some nachos. It's cheap, greasy, and delicious. Expect a line out the doors when bars close.

Edit: for live music, check out the Blue Note, Penguin Piano Bar, Murry's (not downtown), Nash Vegas (relatively new country bar, I haven't personally been), Mojos, or the Blue Fugue (not a personal recommendation on the last one, but I know people that like it).

As a fellow 24 year old, Quintons and harpos, finish off the night at penguins ( thats where I will be). anything else is over-rated. Big 12 sucks and rather a trashy place. trops is also unique, snowcone shop that throws vodka on the snow cones, sure it will be cold but frick it. last but not least, wear sun glasses, all the eye candy you will see walking around might get you in trouble as far as getting caught looking.

I'll be fine. My friend with his wife there, not so much.

This is true, however a lot of cops stop by trops when they're getting off their shift to get something to go...it's pretty much accepted as a "look the other way" kind of thing

but with them possibly in Arkansas attire, the cops may choose to look our way.

That close to Kansas City the BBQ should be pretty good, right?

No. Como BBQ isn't that good, at least not compared to KC. I would recommend some of the other mentioned places, way before I would recommend Como BBQ

Agreed. I've never been impressed by a BBQ joint in Columbia, sadly. There are a few decent ones around town but nothing worth recommending for a weekend trip.

Thirded. I had some really good pork at a friends house that they had catered in from a joint in CoMo but I have no idea of the name. Shotgun Petes and the place listed above are just ok. Go somewhere else.

If you like pizza, head to Shakespeare's. For good wings and 32 oz beers head to CJs. Flat Branch and Boochies are good options as well, although they get crowded on game weekends.

As far as bars go, Bengals or Big 12 is the spot if you like being around underage college kids. If not, Shiloh usually has an older post-grad crowd, and is a good time. I would recommend Harpos, as it has the best balance between students and graduates.

Definitely seems like this is the place we need to try. Just looked at their site and it says they are closed on Thanksgiving Day.

We will be there Friday Night to Saturday Morning.

Agreed on the bbq. It's almost a religion in KC.

No where else comes close.

Thought I was responding to a LSU fan who happened to be in town for the game or something... yeah, arky fans should just stay home.

Realistically, our police department doesn't really seem to even look out for our players. Doubt they are going to go out of their way to mess with any visiting fans.

I'm an LSU fan. My friend and his wife are Arkansas fans.

One of the things on my bucket list is to attend a game in every SEC Stadium. I have Arkansas, LSU, and Ole Miss down. Now I get to visit Missouri.

I'm not sure if I'm going to wear Arkansas, find a Missouri shirt, or go neutral at the game.

Our tickets are Section 9

Gotcha, hope you have a good time. I'm going to try to make the game myself since I'll be at the Lake of the Ozarks for Thanksgiving. Haven't found tickets yet though.

Our problem was finding 3 tickets to the game. Always a hard number to get.

We got lucky with a Group of 4 tickets someone only bought 1, so the owner dropped the ticket numbers to 1 or 3 tickets.

Looking forward to seeing Columbia for a game day. The Arkansas friend and I worked up in Fulton, Missouri for a month or so. We would drive up to Columbia and eat sometimes.
