The new flat seamed baseballs seem to have made a difference in fall ball earlier. I copied this from an article on an Ole Miss website. didn't know if it was okay to link, but can provide the whole article if it is allowed...

"The NCAA has approved the new baseball for play in 2015, in the hope of increasing offense and helping offset the overcorrection of implementing BBCOR bats prior to the 2011 season. The results from several weeks of intrasquads are noticeable but don't extend to all the categories most believe will be impacted by the change.
Mike Bianco's team hit 20 more home runs in fall practice this year compared to last year.
Ole Miss hit just seven home runs last fall, and five of those came from Sikes Orvis. Austin Anderson and Evan Anderson hit one each. This fall, the Rebels exploded for 27 home runs in a comparable number of at-bats. Colby Bortles hit six, Orvis hit four, Joe Wainhouse hit three, Kyle Watson hit three, Henri Lartigue hit two, JB Woodman hit two, and several others ran into one during intrasquads.

"That's a pretty wowing number," head coach Mike Bianco said. "Does that mean we hit 42 last year and we'll hit 127 this year? Well, no, but there is a difference."

Seems about right. We lost a ton of production at the plate including our hitting coach and also our ace pitcher. Our pitching should be solid though.

I'd bet on LSU being 1 or 2 after the Houston College Classic.

I'm glad USC is low. We may be a powerhouse in baseball but we seem to play much better when nobody expects much of us... we'll play hard nose ball this season and end up in Omaha and everybody will say "oh yea, I forgot about South Carolina" ...

They seem to always have them ranked high.. Another collapse???

They pretty much lost the entire NC team and were really young last year. They were ranked accordingly as I recall (never in the top 25)
