The GF (no) will not be more than 6 inches away from me at all times. No, I dont want to meet at the Pickle Patch or Leaky Faucet after the game.

We brought some cruiser bikes last year. It's a big campus so we could get around easily and slipped right up to the stadium just before game time. I can't see going back there without bikes.

Couple kegs, mimosas, breakfast stuff, hot dogs, burgers, maybe some grilled chicken. Not sure. it'll be my last home tailgate of the year so I won't half arse it

You are going to see or hear some recommendations to go to the Quad to see the Corps fall out and the cannon fire. In the words of Walter White, I tread VERY lightly about this recommendation. It depends ENTIRELY on how old you are. If you are 60+, you will probably think it was time well spent. My retired father loves it. If you are younger than that, you will be either bored or completely weirded-out. Aggies are a good-hearted, well-meaning bunch. The people who recommend this are being genuine - they think you will like it because it is so special to them that it brings tears to their eyes, but Aggies are also a naive bunch - we frequently fall afoul of not understanding that "our stuff" doesn't make sense and or ins't special to others. If you are late 20's-30's age guy looking for a good time, I would recommend against the Corps fall out and cannon experience. Just my .02. This will make other Ags mad, but it's the truth.

I will probably bypass the A&M traditions of yell practice and cannon fires.

Ill be at a bar or tailgating.

Co-signed.
I would add Yell Practice to that advice as well.
And dinner at any restaurant with "wings" in its name and/or red plastic baskets as its serving vessels.

I actually agree with this (and I was in the Corps).

Well said, Cooter Davenport

You've got some Commie in ya, don't ya?

Actually I agree with this and like TBird, was all about the Corps. It's something that should be seen once, but once should be enough. If I ever get back there I'd definitely check it out but only because I haven't been there in over 20 years. And I'd probably regret it because they're doing it all wrong and get off my lawn. To me this isn't that much different than the Grove: Must see, gotta do... once.

I'm glad I came across the way I intended to. It's not an anti-Corps thing. When I was a kid it was one of the highlights of my life. If you haven't been in 20 years it might seriously make you a bit misty. But I wince when I hear or see someone, meaning well, tell a road-tripper to go see it. These guys are looking to party. It's out of their way and they won't "get it".

Or the Chicken... go see it to see it, but don't plan on staying there. Aggies make out like it's the hub of the nightlife universe... it's a dingy pool hall full of rednecks that only serves beer. I think it's cool because I'm an Aggie and I have hick tendencies, but someone from another school looking to rage and hit on chicks is going to hate it.

Hell, I already think they're doing stuff wrong (from what I hear from my nonreg little brother and old underclassmenl), and I've only been dead for 3 years

I kept looking for Corps guys at Ole Miss, until classmate told me they don't wear uniforms to away games. Bunch of pansies!
