In my opinion, riding one pitcher through an entire tournament is ridiculous. No way one girl should get to start three consecutive games and throw nearly four hundred pitches in 72 hours. There needs to be at least two days between starts so that a team wins with a staff and not the coattails of one recruit.

I realize it has always been that way, but it is lame and always has been.

And let me get this one out of the way: "Durrrrr you're just saying that because LSU sucks and they don't have any pitching."

What college softball needs to fix is Barnhill pitching illegally every other pitch but not getting called for it.

If a player’a good enough to do that, why should there be a rule to stop them?

I think the idea is if it’s a team sport with a pitching “staff” it shouldn’t be allowed for one person to make up the whole staff. I think just not allowing back to back starts would do the trick

Even worse is when you wait until the SEC tournament to start calling it. You're welcome, Minnesota.

Not gonna lie I didn’t even have a problem with Barnhill doing it until exactly what she does every pitch basically cost us the game.

I agree, lot of girls rupturing their biceps. Need rules to limit the overuse of these pitchers.

Because baseball/softball is a team sport and should be constructed as such.

Just because one pitcher pitches multiple games doesn't change the fact that there are 8 other players on the field every inning. Clearly still very much constructed as a team sport.

Do you think other sports should have similar rules? Like should there be a limit on a basketball player’s usage rate?

Tua and Trevor can only take so many snaps this year. That make him happy?

I think the NBA allowing superstar players to "team up" and render 25 teams unwatchable is bad for the game. There needs to be a salary cap rule overhaul to promote competitiveness. Perhaps one player per team whose salary doesn't affect the cap and limitations on the rest of the roster. This way small market teams can still lure superstars.

I agree...then make it retroactive to when Auburn lost to the one girl for Oklahoma a few years ago.

I agree. Just because a player is on a team doesn't mean he/she should be able to play in all games.

Let's take, as an example, Darren McFadden being abused by Houston Nutt. I feel that Nutt ran McFadden like a rented mule because McFadden was black and Nutt felt like he was a plantation owner/slave driver or something.

McFadden was used in every single game and most of the time it was practically all McFadden carrying the majority of the run duties.

Felix Jones was treated like a slave too but, not nearly as badly as McFadden.

Nutt took his frustration out on McFadden in sadistic and horrible ways by making him run constantly and take horrible abuse. I'm sure McFadden probably has that brain disease now, thanks to Nutt abusing him.

Softball is such you can have a single pitcher and still win because throwing is not as hard on the arm because of the mechanics.

That being said, NCAA could fix some things in a given year and not cause a big stir except it would allow better teams a more level playing field.

#1 If you play in the EST you do not play in games on the coast that start after 6 pm EST

#2 If you are a serious contender in the SEC you should not play another serious SEC contender in a Super Regional when it would be more fair to meet in the WCWS

#3 Be consistent calling illegal pitches all year so it is not a point of contention when it really matters in post season play

#4 While the PAC was the beast in the early years of softball be a bit more fair when playing other teams on your home field or don't have the better teams play there in the first place.
