. IDK why either one of you is acting like we were UGA decked out in bridesmaid attire every year.
2015 uga and 2016 uga were not good and the vols needed miracles to beat both.

I was responding to his claim that during Butch’s reign that Tennesse would’ve made a dent in a weaker conference. The East was absolute trash while Butch was at Tennessee. Arguably the weakest the division has ever been, and Tennessee still didn’t win the division so his claim was moronic was my only point.
I know and I'm telling you that it was weak, in part, because WE were terrible.

I just said you were better than us and you took it as insult That's Dawg fans for you.
HINT: We weren't good enough to be invited to the wedding let alone the maid of honor. :

Right…. But you don’t play yourselves so don’t really see your point. The division as a whole was terrible. From top to bottom, there wasn’t one great team in the East during that time period.

Everyone knows Oklahoma is a fake after getting stomped in the playoff every time
TD and a field goal loss to 19 Bama, double OT against UGA. The only time OU has actually been beaten badly in the playoffs was against LSU. Also Lincoln Riley ain’t walking the sideline anymore. OU has the best defense in the sec this year.

Yes championships are a criteria, but not the whole pie. Other categories include all time wins and winning percentage. Texas is tied with ND at #4 with 948 total wins (LSU is #17 with 806 and Georgia #11 with 881). Texas sits at #7 with a .702 W%. Georgia sits at #13 with a .666 W% and LSU at #14 with a .654 W%.
The problem is not every conference has been equal over time which is why I don't think win % matters that much. It's not apples -> apples comparison.

It's the same way you can compare Babe Ruth to Barry Bonds. It will never be "apples to apples" but you can compare them to their peers.. It's all speculation either way..
A teams non-conference schedule also plays a big role in that calculation. If you play 4 cream puffs each year compared to a team that plays 2 P5 + 2 cream puffs.. that makes a big difference over 10 years.. 20 years.. etc..
There is no metric that will be perfect either way.

Texas is not a blue blood.
All those other teams listed as blue bloods have multiple national championships/dynasties.

Tex definitely blue

So basically the same teams 6-8 teams that have a shot at the title just like the last 10 years

With Ohio state NIL going beast mode and Ryan Day who can put up very productive offenses, but now buying top defensive talent. If he figures out how to play more physical, OSU will be a top contender unfortunately.

Tennessee obvious. Hell we would beat the of those overrated non SEC schools with Milton at Qb and Butch at coach even. Tennessee as bad we were before Heupel came in could have made a playoff run under Butch in the Big 10 because that conference was awful until just recent and we still just beat one of their division champs, Iowa like a drum. Either way the correct answer is Tennessee. We are about to do big big things now that we finally have a real QB and a decent with a pulse again.
Whether you are really a fan of Fla, LSU, or possibly even UGA, you seem to be losing steam on the troll. Don’t get me wrong, it’s funny in a 80’s WWE rivalry kind of way but damn man- maybe you went too hard and cringe too early in the offseason. Everyone has figured you out while there’s still 3 months to go.

Normally, yes. But, the dramatic shift will be the % of TV revenue sharing. That immediately negates the SEC’s previous financial advantage and arms premier B1G schools with a larger payroll. Sankey better get to work.
I can't see recruiting not mattering in college athletics. That is the SEC's strength now and in the future. The talent is in the Southeast and as long as BAMA and SEC teams continue to recruit at this level we will be fine. The other built-in advantage is interest. Fans are stupid nutts for college football in the South.
The last point I would make is that TV money keeps everyone healthy and the SEC is set for the future.

Their titles are pretty much legit(given the times) other than the 1970 title where they lost the CB to Notre Dame... but the UPI still didn't have an after bowl poll and wouldn't until Bama won their '73 regular season "title".
Well, at least Alabama played in a bowl during that NC. Unlike OU in 74 winning the AP and not playing in a bowl ( I know, OU was sanctioned by the ncaa)
In fact all of Alabama's title winners played in bowls,

Same for Bama within the next couple years and then Saban's players leave.
But this board - and probably you too if I cared to search your post history - laughed for weeks when DeBoer was hired saying things like “All their players are bailing! Bama won’t have enough scholarship players left for DeBoer to field a team! Hahahaha!”
Now, if DeBoer is successful you’ll say he did it with Saban;s players. Make up your fvkn mind.

UGA and LSU are bluebloods before Texas. All have the same number of NCs, with UGA and LSU more recent
Is Clemson more of a blueblood before Ohio State?
