So what are we doing to hold officials accountable for their shitty arse officiating?
Find them on Facebook and destroy their business?

The Dooley Rule was implemented in the 80s ... in essence there were restrictions on contact with prospects including dead periods, most notably just before signing day, but the rule was not really enacted to stop Dooley. It was pushed for by Dooley to stop Danny Ford from hiding prospects for days prior to signing day.
The Butch Doctrine ... otherwise known as the "Champions of Life Doctrine." It's complicated.

And Ford learned it from Bryant. Who learned it from Frank Thomas.

That didn't hold them accountable as it was. Its ridiculous the amount of shite football refs have always just taken.

It was a different time. The Big Ten started it in the 30s. Frank Thomas just pioneered it in The South. He taught Frank Howard, The Bear ... who taught Danny Ford, Dabo Sweeney, et al.
It's been very productive for that tree. Can't fault anyone really ... when, in fact, the most despised cheater (because he was such a hypocrite about it) of all times is Phat Phil Fulmer and - who did Fulmer play under?

I hate this rule being automatic.
If a coach comes on the field briefly to argue, that alone shouldn't be a penalty.
If they stay out there and make an arse of themselves or slow the game down, then flag them.

Can hear the announcers now: "Saban should have been flagged there for being nearly 10 yards on the field to argue that call, but somehow wasn't." We will hear that like 10 times each game with Saban never receiving a flag. Meanwhile, "Derek Mason was literally one foot off the sideline arguing with the ref, and now Alabama will win the game due to the ref's call."
God help this board if LSU is in that situation instead of Vandy.

Does this mean that we won't get to see Will Muschamp have a virtual heart attack during games anymore?
Disappointing because that is the best part of watching South Carolina football!

This rule had to have been spearheaded by people who have never been on the field or have forgotten.
Some people have no idea how visceral an experience it is to be on the field, especially as a player but also as a coach. It's a war every Saturday. To try to throttle those emotions any more than they already are is a sad day for football. It's emasculating.
They should call this rule: The Vasectomy.

There's a "Houston Nutt Rule" too. While he was at Ole Miss he offered schollies to 68 kids in one signing class
