Work left to do: LSU, Texas A&M
Team that can surprise in the SEC tourney: South Carolina

The way I see it is if aTm wins 2, they are in. That would be their third win over LSU. LSU in this scenario would simply be at the mercy of bubble busters. If only a couple happen, LSU is safe, if 4 to 5 happen, LSU is out.

UK, ARK, UGA, LSU. are easily in
OM needs to win 1
AM may need to make semi finals, I think they maybe out unless they get to finals though.

Yeah Vandy could do some damage, but they can't beat UK(no sec team can). So they will be out.

That is what is so frustrating about this LSU team. They beat SEC locks Arkansas and Georgia and was an eyelash from beating Kentucky who will probably be the overall #1 seed of the tourney. They swept Ole Miss in 2 games who is a should be in team. And yet lose to Missouri, Mississippi State, and Auburn.

I expect the SEC to get boned by the selection committee.

I wouldn't call what Lunardi has LSU at, as comfortable. Basically, all 16 if those teams within a hair of each other. You have to win a game in the SECT or you don't make it. Hence, work left to do. That's not a stretch.

Lunardi has us as his 8th team in. Therefore if we lose to aTm a handful of bubble buster would need to happen for us to miss the tournament. Which is certainly possible, but not likely with this year's crop. There's been no bubble busters thus far...and in this case probably 4 or 5 would need to happen to really threat LSU.

Tonight it looks like Gonzaga (Already did) and BYU will shut oput the rest of the WCC from bubble busting.

Lunardi also has Tulsa missing the tourney. What a joke!

LSU is probably in, but what a weird team to try and predict. When they are on they can beat anyone. When they aren't... well they can lose to anyone. I hope they are in, and I think they could do well, but they could either make a great run... or flameout at any moment.

umm, no.

there's a slight chance LSU doesn't get in if they go one and done in Nashville, but it's not exactly mandatory

I'd say there is more than a slight chance. Outside of UK and Ark nothing is a guarantee.

Yeah, a lot would have to go wrong for LSU to miss out with the true road wins at West Virginia and Arkansas.

The main "work they have to do" is hoping Texas AM beats Auburn or Miss St. Only losing to Auburn or Miss St and then watching a lot of upsets in other conference tourneys on TV would put them at risk.

I think Ole Miss will be ok too but if they were to lose to Mizzou it would put them in doubt. South Carolina would hurt a bit less but they mainly need the first round win more than LSU because they won't get a decent RPI opponent like Texas A&M.

Texas A&M is anyone's guess but based on past preferences I don't like their chances unless they beat both Miss St/Auburn and then LSU.

I think Georgia is pretty much a lock. I think the absolute worst case scenario of losing to Missouri would maybe knock them into a play-in game but not completely out.

I agree. I was just point out that it's not "cut and dry" that LSU absolutely has to beat A&M. Now if State pulls the unthinkable, that changes everything up a bit. LSU would be 50/50 if State makes it to the SEC semis

That's awesome, but it's not like the Selection Committee REALLY takes into account what he thinks. At this point, it's a very educated guess, but there are still a lot of teams that could get snubbed. Several years ago when Seth Greenberg still coached at VT, they had several seasons with 20+ wins and everyone thought it was a sure thing that VT would finally get into the Tourney but got snubbed about 3 years in a row. shite just happens; I don't even think UGA is a lock to get in. I think UGA WILL get invited but it's not a foregone conclusion, if you ask me.

LSU may have the second best talent in the SEC, but since everything but corn dog grease underachieveds in Baton Rouge, finds themselves on the bubble after losing to all the bottom dwellers in the league.

You can't explain it other than to point out that their football coach is most famous for eating grass.
