Clearly votes were in before the Alabama win over Notre Dame last night or we'd be in the Top 10.

Understandable.

Alabama has had the weirdest start. The Catholic Ohio rivals both steamrolled you guys. But then you picked up two very solid wins.

The Dayton game was a beatdown. They jumped on us and we played shellshocked (kind of understandable, new system, road game, good team).

The Xavier game was a little different. It was a close game until about the 15 minute mark on the 2nd half and they went on a run and we just went cold. It stayed at 16-22 pts the rest of the game.

Wichita is struggling without Van Vleet, but that was still a really solid win for us. The Notre Dame game was a total surprise. That is a solid team, we jumped out to a big lead and they stormed back and our guys just kept doing their thing, making plays, running our offensive sets. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Avery Johnson isn't Coach Cal or Brad Stevens, but he can coach. He is light years better in game and preparing for games than Grant was. It isn't even close.

Not sure how LSU has so many votes in the Coaches Poll. Bama picked up two decent wins by name, but it doesn't look so hot when you actually look at their two opponents on paper.

Notre Dame is a good team. They were picked to finish #4th in the ACC this year. Lost to Monmouth, but Monmouth has a great player this year and also beat Iowa.

Wichita was reeling without Van Vleet, though.

ND is definitely a good team and that will be a very solid win come tournament time if y'all happen to be in contention. I really just meant that it's not the same ND team who lost to UK in the elite 8 last year. I'd definitely trade resumes with y'all right now.

A&M has a win over #12 and has #23 coming up in Dec and #4 coming up Jan. Our OOC schedule is no joke.

Oh yea, not close. That was basically this team plus Grant and Connaughton. Super tough group.

A&M had a very solid Thanksgiving tournament. Wins vs Texas and the Zags and a close loss to Syracuse. Very good.

Solid upcoming schedule

Kansas State
Baylor

And ISU sandwiched between Arkansas & Vanderbilt.

SOS won't be held against us this year.

SC will be in shortly. Frank Martin is too good of a coach.

1 Kentucky (59) 6-0 1,619
2 Maryland (4) 6-0 1,512
3 Michigan State (2) 7-0 1,510
4 Kansas 4-1 1,342
5 Iowa State 5-0 1,338
6 Oklahoma 4-0 1,269
7 Duke 6-1 1,253
8 Villanova 6-0 1,218
9 North Carolina 5-1 1,155
10 Virginia 5-1 965
11 Purdue 6-0 904
12 Xavier 7-0 801
13 Gonzaga 4-1 788
14 Syracuse 6-0 696
15 Oregon 5-0 628
16 Vanderbilt 5-1 587
17 Cincinnati 7-0 551
18 Texas A&M 6-1 522
19 Arizona 6-1 504
20 West Virginia 6-0 363
21 Miami (FL) 5-1 289
22 SMU 4-0 256
23 Providence 6-1 247
24 Louisville 5-0 173
25 Baylor 4-1 162

I really can't argue with the top 25, except I expect to see South Carolina in there shortly. LSU has had some tough breaks against good teams, but I think they should be at least a 10 seed in the Tourney. Alabama is turning the corner and showing life. Jury is still out on Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss.

Right now, Tourney teams from the SEC appear to be, in order:
1. Kentucky
2. Vanderbilt
3. A&M
4. SC
5. LSU

Still haven't seen them perform at their best:

6. Florida
7. Alabama
8. Ole Miss
9. Georgia
10. Auburn

Need to turn the corner or stay home in March:

11. Tennessee
12. Mississippi State
13. Arkansas
14. Missouri

Vandy has some good tests coming up this month. At #11 Purdue, at #23 Baylor and home against Dayton. Wish Indiana hadn't lost to WF so Vandy could have played them as well.

I think our performance last night against Notre Dame was about as well as we can play.

South Carolina's OOC schedule is pretty dreadful. Who is the best OOC game outside of Clemson? South Florida? Oral Roberts?
